How close do you have these two? Vegeta seemed to have to work much harder to match Freeza in their exchange, yet still impressed Freeza and thought he could beat a transformed Freeza with Gohan/Krillin's help.

I have Vegeta at 500,000. He wouldn't taunt Freeza to transform if he wasn't super close to him in Battle Power, and I guess if Gohan and Krillin weren't close to Vegeta in Battle Power.

I'd be inclined to agree. It reminds me of a much shorter version of SSJ Goku vs 100% Freeza. They were close, but Freeza was working much harder and ran out of stamina quickly.

480,000 seems a nice spot to me. Vegeta held Freeza still for a while, but he gassed out while Freeza remained fresh. Problem though is that such is the same gap I apply to handsome Zarbon vs Vegeta... I don't know if Zarbon could pull off this feat on Vegeta...

Why not just lower Zarbon? Vegeta was clearly on a different level than Zarbon. Freeza was on the same general level as Vegeta.

I’m not sure about then fighting Vegeta’s expectations for 2nd form Freeza. Gohan wasn’t even sure if they could beat 1st form.

Either way, 480,000 seems like the perfect spot for me.

Gohan and Krillin were clearly lacking shouki/yuuki when Freeza arrived. Once Vegeta reassured them they saw the situation differently.

Exactly. When Gohan sees Vegeta’s power, he says they may be able to beat Freeza. And he doesn’t even know about his transformations.

Chapter: 295 (DBZ 101), P13.6
Context: after Freeza and Vegeta grapple for a bit, after Vegeta said they could win
Gohan: “It-it’s true…! If we 3 fight together, we might really be able to manage something…H-he really is absolutely incredible, but we’ve gotten better too…!”

The group can barely beat 1st form Freeza, let alone a slightly stronger 2nd form Freeza.

Agreed, which makes it more reasonable for Vegeta to be around the 500k mark imo. It's a stretch to have Gohan and Krillin above 400k to make Vegeta's statement work, so either Vegeta needs to be closer to 1st Form Freeza, or he had to be assuming the transformation would grant him a minuscule boost.

Yeah, I don't know why so many people have Zarbon at 22,000. 21,000 works just fine, if not better.

I think Vegeta probably expected a boost closer to what Zarbon got. Around 650k or so.

Yeah, so how is the group managing anything when Freeza would be 1.35x stronger than Vegeta?

I've always gone with 500,000 too. He seemed noticeably more winded than Freeza after their short tussle. A 1.06x gap seems appropriate.

Or maybe Freeza’s reserves via transformations granted him using his full-power in lower-form more leisurely.

Frieza really seemed to be in complete control of the situation. While Vegeta did have confidence, it was partially based on the idea that the team's powers would eventually grow great enough to win and that he'd become a Super Saiyan in the process; it was basically wishful thinking, to put it bluntly. Vegeta got carried away by telling Frieza to transform, given he couldn't have known how much stronger Frieza would get. Even if he made an assumption based on Zarbon's increase, that's incredibly risky since he's a completely different life form.

1st Form Frieza vs Vegeta = Frieza mid-diff
1st Form Frieza vs Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillin = Frieza mid/high-diff in most cases. The team have a puncher's chance if Krillin gets creative with his Destructo Disc or Gohan gets angry enough to boost his power

It's hard with the spacing. Maybe 21k?

Btw 500k for Vegeta seems really fine for me too. I think they are very close. I just generally go with 480k myself.
