What aspect of the Saiyan Saga did you not agree with? Why, and how would you change it?

Probably the humans getting bigger gains in under a year than Goku got in 3, but you could argue the more pressing threat of the Saiyans and having more training partners contributed to their gains. Still would be preferable if you could retroactive add the Room of Spirit and Time to the reasoning for their gains though, even if they didn't go in for a full year.

Aside from that, probably the fact that Vegeta is just a mini-Freeza in many ways like him being an egomaniacal villain team boss who sat around and didn't do much but watch and order his minions around until the tail end of the arc and took a Genki Dama and an additional beating to beat, among other things like that. Vegeta got outshined in every way when Freeza was almost fresh after a much bigger Genkidama and could exceed the power of Kaio-ken x 20 with just half his max power.

It not being as bloody as some of the other arcs after it other than the battle with Vegeta is also a bit of a minus. Definitely had more Part 1 elements at the time, Goku even took the Kintoun to fly to the battlefield rather than flying on his own even when that would've been faster lol.

People complain about Vegeta surviving the beam struggle, but I think him surviving the Genki-Dama makes even less sense.

No, AT said in a comic strip he drew when FnF came out that he originally intended for Goku to kill Vegeta, but fan response to him caused him to change the story so that he survived. He then killed him either on Namek or during the Boo saga when fans asked him not to, because AT likes to do the opposite of what people ask/expect of him.

It's one of the better developed stories in Z, honestly. As a kid, I felt that it was moot once we were introduced to Super Saiyans and whatnot, but looking back at it, I really enjoy that arc all the way through.
