What if GT Kid Goku was weaker?

What if kid Goku was on Trunks' level except with exceptional fighting smarts? How would have this affected or improved the plot of GT?

This would probably force other characters to shine, as Goku would have to 'guide' the Z senshi to beat the series' antagonists. It would also allow more quests and the ultimate goal of restoring Goku's power. It would also make GT villains conceivably weaker than Cell and Buu when necessary.

It would have made the BSDB arc a lot more interesting for one. Rild was treated as the first true threat in the series, yet Goku fought him in Base from the get go and was actually stronger. Even as a Super Saiyan he was more powerful than Rild's strongest form. It would have been much cooler if Rild was really the threat he was made out to seem like, and Goku would've had to bring out SSJ3 and actually fight seriously.

Even Trunks Base (BoGT) was more or less at Kid Boo's level.

I found interesting the theory that Goku and Vegeta Base (BoGT) had surpassed Gohan Boo. When Goku became a child, he completely diminished his power and when he arrived at Planet M2, Goku had recovered all his lost power.
