What's next for Big Mom?

Was kind of hoping that she was gonna be done with the story this arc, but it seems like that won't be the case.

I don't see how she will serve a purpose as a villain if Luffy defeats Kaido. BM is Kaido's equal and we will have already defeated that level of power. Maybe she'll go to Elbaf and retire or something lol

Maybe the Elbaf story isn't really about the threat level. Like, Big Mom will be a villain, but the important thing is maybe exploring her character more.

Unrelated, but I doubt Elbaf will be of any significance at this point, even outside of its own Story Arc. After Wano, I can easily see Oda skipping a potential Story Arc for it entirely and going straight to Raftel.

They need to find the 4th Poneglyph somewhere, and Elbaf is pretty close to Wano according to the OP map.

I think that would be a really big missed opportunity, and quite a letdown. The arc was foreshadowed since Little Garden. Usopp is very adamant about that island.

It would be, but One Piece will most likely be finished before it actually should be.
