What is the evidence they actually got much stronger, rather than all the enemies just being around the same strength?
That Luffy or anyone else got stronger going from Kuro, to Krieg, to Arlong?
That Luffy or anyone else got stronger between Arlong and Wapol?
That Zoro, Luffy or anyone got stronger between Wapol and Little Garden?
That the SHs were stronger vs Mr 1 and Mr 2 than prior to Arabasta?
That Luffy was stronger vs Crocodile when he beat him vs when he first met him? He just used a new move and could hit him.
That Luffy was actually stronger vs Enel than vs Crocodile?
And so on, until Enies Lobby.
