That still hasn't been revealed yet and probably won't be for as long as Shonen Sunday plans to milk Conan :et

I know it hasn't been revealed yet? Any suspicions, though?

I think the Author said he has already appeared or has been mentioned in the story.

Yeah, he said that he's already appeared in the story and that Haibara/Sherry would be the most surprised to learn his identity. He also said the real name of the BO hasn't been revealed since you would immediately know their motive if you knew their organization name

He also said he wanted to end the series really soon actually, I think. Like he gave a number like this amount of chapters or months. I think it was 3 months now thinking about it.

So it might be possible that the boss appeared really early on.

I think it's possible that that weird old person who pretended to be blind could be the boss, since he's way over 50 years old. He appeared in one of the early cases. You might remember him.

He also said the boss reappeared recently too, but on the subject of the series ending, he's flip-flopped on the matter several times so I wouldn't trust his comments on the series ending soon. Sometimes he's been quoted even saying he wanted to extend the series over 100 volumes (we're not even at volume 90 yet), or that he wants to draw it the rest of his life...

I might have phrased it wrong, but I think he said in an interview when he 1st started the manga he didn't expect it to go over 3 months, but then it became popular, so he made it longer.

I don't really have a problem since I do like the series.

The early cases were the best, though I think. Some of the new cases are a lot less violent, too apparently. I haven't watched the series in a long time. Then they re-aired it on TV years later again like a few years ago & I watched it again & remembered how much I liked it. I think it 1st aired in 2002 in Germany, so yeah can't really remember when I first watched it.

Do you have a favourite case?

I liked the one where Pisco and Vermouth first appeared and the former died. Most of the others have incredibly ridiculous motives for committing murder and that hampers my enjoyment of them.

also the 2 hour special called "20 year murderous intent" or something was probably my fav or at-least 1 of my favs

Well a lot of them are for revenge, yeah, but just wanting to get back at your ex or whatever qualify as ridiculous motives to kill somebody to me. The worst ones though are that anime-only episode where a woman killed somebody because they hit her with a clothes hanger (not even kidding) and where some dude killed a girl because she wasn't appreciating his art or some shit, lol

l0l

the 1st one does sound ridicilous

but usually with the art not being appreciated or rejected, it's sometimes potrayed really well in the anime. like they show how they felt when the victim was always being an asshole, and always degraded them or something. i'm not sure how that might have come-off in the manga.

but ye some of them can be ridiculous, but i think they are doing good. like u can do greed or revenge as a motive, but then it can't be always that

In one case there wasn't even a guy being an asshole or anything, he just quit this role he had in a play to go film a movie and one of his fellow stage actresses killed him for abandoning his role, lol. (She says she only loved the part of him that played that character or something)

Kind of a shame that was in a pretty important case, as it pertains to Shinichi and Ran and Vermouth as well.

She was that actress that was in the episode where Gin shot that old man to death after Haibara escaped them.

I also saw this, l0l:

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">
m7ZHaq9.jpg
</div>

but i think he might knw already by now or at-least has suspicions some of his behaviour apparently seems to point towards it.

also i think it'd be kewl if any1 other than conan/shinichi can be shown as intelligent

most are either shown to be sometimes straight stupid or they get deceived by things that conan can't get deceived by

like heiji (vegeta). he's supposed to be the best detective from osaka or something, yet conan seems to be able to see through things he can't (like in the closed door case).

but i think he's like the 2nd or alongside conan the most intelligent character in the series

On a more serious note, in volume 81 or so he actually has been suspecting something weird happens to him during his blackouts since he's sensed he always feels a short needle prick before he passes out and makes those masterful deductions. But the author's recently just been fiddling around with characters other than Kogoro taking the spotlight during cases (like Sera Masumi) so it no longer means as much as it would've before

He also has been surprised by Conan's knowledge quite a few times, and I don't mean like just using that as a gag, but a really shocked face. At times, when he saw Conan say intelligent things or do things.

Has Heiji solved a case before Conan yet? In the series I mean.

They showed that Kogoro can be capable when the case is personal to him, and he's given a few clues from Conan, but Heiji I can't remember.
