Well a lot of them are for revenge, yeah, but just wanting to get back at your ex or whatever qualify as ridiculous motives to kill somebody to me. The worst ones though are that anime-only episode where a woman killed somebody because they hit her with a clothes hanger (not even kidding) and where some dude killed a girl because she wasn't appreciating his art or some shit, lol
ages ago @Papasmurf, but i watched that episode some-time ago since. i'm not sure why i'm saying that now, tho.

that was the 1 where ayumi went to the barber she knew

i also remember an episode where a woman killed the fellow bcoz she thought he hated him after she did a surgery to change her face, but he rly didn't. she poisoned him. they were in a band.

Yeah a lot of the motives for murder are just plain ridiculous, it's as if they all forgot murder usually means 25 to life or the needle, lol

to be fair, tho i think i remember that throwing the hanger at her was kind-of the breaking-point, she wanted to leave for something-else where she got paid more, too

even-tho ye, murder should ever happen but that's also the moral of the story a lot of times

the new sound-track/music is also not nearly as gr9 as the old 1

Well after 950 episodes I'd get tired of composing songs 2

true, but the music just doesn't seem as gr9 to me

they could have just kept the old sound-track or brought that back

Well most artists wouldn't be fond of constantly remixing their old works to use in favor of their new ones, since their old ones are quite outdated. Not that I could be assed to look up Conan's BGM to see if the same guy did the soundtrack for the whole show :et

i think that's the same person

have you seen any of the newer episodes??? i think the music makes them worse, but also something abt them just feels not as good as the old episodes/cases. maybe the cases themselves are not as gr9, too. i know the anime-originals have decreased a lot. also something abt the new episodes, they don't have the atmosphere as the old episodes.

It's because Conan was only supposed to be a 48 chapter series or something. Its unexpected popularity caused the anime to get so long, which is why some early cases don't follow the manga plot that puts Gin and Vodka in them, and Haibara's sister doesn't die in an early episode as she should have in the manga etc. since the anime was supposed to only go on for one season

I've heard about that change from the manga, but also something-else. Maybe though that's got something to do with different times (90s compared to now).

What do you think about the new episodes?

They're just not as good, except for the few episodes that either have relation with the main story involving the black organization and the ones that have good cases. Hell, one time some idiot literally tried to murder his wife and got away with it when Conan and Haibara were too afraid of sending him to jail when he had a kid to raise and his wife didn't suspect a thing... :troll

Yeah, I meant what I said on my previous post about the atmosphere. Newer episodes don't seem to have that anymore, but could be due to a lot of reasons like new music too.

I also liked that earlier episodes were more brutal and creepy. Seems a lot more played-down now on that regard.

Same goes for DragonBall Super compared to the original series, too though so I guess that's just that Japan has also changed on what's allowed on Television now compared to in the 90s or early 2000s.

Yeah content regulations are way less lax than they used to be. There used to be a game called rapeplay where you were a scumbag rapist criminal who spent a night in jail because some girl snitched on you sexually harassing her, so you spend the rest of the game torturing her whole family and molesting them. It was so bad some guy in Britain sent emails to the Prime Minister of japan or some shit and got him to crack down on it and made the sequel far far more tame.

When was that? That's sounds fucked-up.

And they were still allowed to do a sequel to that shit?

If he actually intended to make censorship way worse than it was then, he could just be a complete genius :troll

I do think some animes could be more brutal or graphic like they used to be, since some of them could use it. Not every series but some.

But the toning-down is not only on brutality, though. You see the Detective-Boys in much less dangerous situations than they used to be in the early episodes. Some of them made for some really creepy episodes, but they don't do that anymore either, I think.

That one time Haibara got shot like 10 times on the roof and still survived with no risk to her health was pretty insane though. I get that Gin probably shot her nonfatally, but she could walk the next day on a crutch and never needed to go straight to the hospital after being literally riddled with bullets? Really? :wat

l0l yeah, can be un-realistic like that sometimes, but then again in that universe u can go from fax to iphone in less than a year, so anything is possible :troll :troll :troll

The only explanation I can think of is that when her body shrank back to 7 year old size, the bullet holes closed up so all they needed to do was extract the bullets.

Either that, or since there are probably 900 months in a Detective Conan year, the time spent offscreen recovering could've been like 10 weeks and we wouldn't have realized a thing :troll
