I always loved debating this topic on Neoseeker. It’s a classic that never gets old.

Anyway, I place more of the blame on Krillin. He was just being a simp.

He might have been fast enough to beat second form Cell, considering how much stronger ASSJ Vegeta was than SFC. He could be slower than ASSJ, but faster than SFC.

Also he could have gone ASSJ when Cell was on his way to Android 18 and finished off Cell. He knew from watching Vegeta's fight and from Vegeta's comment to Cell about Trunks' ASSJ power that he was strong enough and fast enough to stop Cell just by powering up to ASSJ. (ed: He wouldn't have gone USSJ with so little time to spare. ed: oh and to protect idiot Vegeta's pride).
