Why are Goten and Trunks not interested in fighting?

They seemed to really like it as kids, as if they were natural Saiyan warriors with an exciting vision of fighting, though without the malice. They'd play heavy sparring, they were really excited in competing and when in their first real battle they weren't shown to be afraid... That screamed to me as fighting being something they like, unlike Gohan who fought more for necessity but didn't like it.

But in the end of Z they didn't follow up with that, Goten was more into dating and Trunks idk, but wasn't into training heavily either. Maybe it's the exciting side of dreams as kids but unlike true Saiyans, their teen selves will show more human traits and mellow this Saiyan enthusiasm more prominent as children?

Give your thoughts.

It seems like only pure Saiyans seem to train to keep up their strength in peaceful times.

Just an excuse to write them off so they're useless

Puberty. And they only liked fighting as kids for fun, nowhere near to the same extent Goku and Vegeta did who made it their lives.

The fandom makes the dumbest excuses lol

Gohan grows up to slack from his training because "he never liked fighting"

But Goten and Trunks also grew up to slack even though they liked fighting. "They grew out of it"

You don't even need to like fighting to the same extent as Goku or Vegeta to keep training. Krillin and Yamcha kept training into adulthood even though they're not battle junkies like Goku and Vegeta, either.

It's just a convenient excuse for Goku to set his sights on Oob.

Because Akira Toriyama secretly jacked off to Goku.

They don't have the natural drive for it due to being only half Saiyans. It was more of a hobby for them as kids. They weren't that invested in Piccolo's training.

Gohan was more gong ho despite not being at all interested in all the fighting, because he's been fighting alongside Goku and co. since he was barely out of diapers, and feel obligated to help. Goten and Present Trunks never had to worry about shit so they lack the discipline Gohan has.

You don't need to be Saiyan to enjoy fighting.
It was more of a hobby for them as kids.
And a lot of people keep the hobbies they had as children. Nothing suggested Goten and Trunks would lose interest in the future.
They weren't that invested in Piccolo's training.
Piccolo never trained them.
Gohan was more gong ho despite not being at all interested in all the fighting, because he's been fighting alongside Goku and co. since he was barely out of diapers, and feel obligated to help.
Gohan started fighting at 4.
Goten started fighting at 6.

Only two years apart. Not a factor.

Goten and Present Trunks never had to worry about shit so they lack the discipline Gohan has.
They took their week-long training in their Time Chamber seriously after seeing Chichi get killed.

Just leave it at that they lost interest because the plot wanted to make way for Oob.

I find it really lame that Chi Chi was the one who trained Goten and not Gohan being the one to train him.
