Something about power levels grabbed people and became a part of pop culture, so much so that we use the term in our every day lexicon.

How does that even work? Dragon Ball’s power system is as easy as it gets and even then the numbers barely work
I would just ignore the scouter numbers except for the Farmer's 5 and apply that to the level of a real life human. Naruto characters even early on are many times stronger than humans since they can jump trees for long periods of time, beat up giant bears, dodge sound attacks, etc.

Yeah, I think I'd be interested in doing Naruto one day.

Just pass time for ppl who like to look at it under a number perspective. Like, DB is the manga that, as far as I know, has the most straightforward power system, so there aren't many variables like in other fighting mangas, like OP, HxH. Besides, AT introduced numbers for portion of the series treating their reading as pretty accurate in depicting how a fight would go... There are guidebooks dedicated to expanding on some not given power levels. So the straightforward nature of if A's power > B's power, A wins, coupled with power levels being introduced and used for two sagas, make it nice to look at fights, at characters' powers under a number perspective.

Like, SSJ Goku was 150,000,000 on Namek. Many ppl know CGs Goku was way stronger... But when they can put that into numbers in a not so random way like it'd be in basically all other fighting mangas, like, MSSJ Goku (CGs) being 12,000,000,000 — some ppl may look at it in a pleasant way, like wow cool, I've a numerical value that to me shows how much Goku developed, filling the void of "a lot". Which is cool to many (to myself too), it just is haha.

That's for example a part of power levels I find boring already. When P starts talking about what power level a pterodactyl should have, or a bear, or the turtle.... Then I wonder if he's having some good weed and just close the tab lol. I like things that have a baseline to work with, when it becomes too much, like, totally imaginary, that already doesn't work for me.

So, in essence, life wouldn't be the same if we didn't have power levels to argue about?
That's right... For better or worse. I don't know if it'd have been better or worse.

How would my life be if there weren't power levels? Maybe I'd be dead... Maybe I'd be a millionaire working towards achieving more and more goals... Who knows..... Or maybe it'd be just pretty much the same, I think more than likely hehe

So, it's like you asking me: "why is it decided that spamming is important?" and "life wouldn't be the same if I couldn't spam?"

It's an added layer of complexity and depth that we can choose to partake in, and if we choose to indulge in the extra intricacies, we feel that we are rewarded with a greater satisfaction.

Is the euphoria from debating power levels, and from spamming, the same feeling?

That's a great question. Hmm, for you, where does the greater satisfaction stem from?

Yes, but what in it makes the act of king of spamming (you're the best spammer ever) satisfying?
Majority of the content is hysterical. If I'm laughing, you're all laughing. There's nothing to argue or debate about. Either, we all laugh and the spam ends there, or others will chime in and compound the spam to another level. It's a win-win for everyone partaking in the spam.

With the serious discussions, Toriyama laid out a foundation for the story, however, people like to play "what if" with inconclusive information, so it's anyone's guess and interpretation at that point with no definite end. No one is correct. No one is wrong. Perhaps, some members do find that aspect enjoyable. Thus far, I haven't found that to be the case for myself.

I accept the story/information as presented by Toriyama, as a spectator enjoying the show.

We could try an experiment, though, if you're up for it! Link some threads of debates and discussions, or tag me in them, regarding the humorous aspect of the show.

As for me, power levels were fun to debate during DBZ Forums' golden age, 2011-2013, but its run its course by now.

Nice post! It was a good read.

I'm not sure if I follow. You mean making a thread about the humorous side of Dragon Ball (whether from an in universe or, more likely, out universe in regards to debates about it) and tagging you/ or finding a thread with this content? Or...? Sorry, I missed it a little, I think it's a language barrier.
