Why didn't Super Buu attemped to destroy himself with Vegetto like he did with Gohan?

However, even though, he tried many techniques he didn't tried the fake Self Destruction like he did with Gohan.

This technique makes Gohan himself get worried and he stated that if he had suicided, he would've destroyed the whole Earth:

Because he didn't try to self destruct to kill Gohan... He did so he could buy time and absorb the kids. Self destructing and buying time vs Vegetto wouldn't matter as he couldn't absorb anyone to make himself more powerful. Maybe he could have done that while being a sore loser like Cell and calling it a tie... But that didn't seem to be on Boo's mind.

Actually I can think that post retcon that would be a game change for Buu, if he dissapeared for one hour and re-appeared like with Gohan, Goku and Vegeta would defuse and both together are too weak to compare with him.

Also, he could employ this Self Destruction seriously, but he wasn't thinking on that.
