Why do you rewatch anime?

To see what you missed? To re-enjoy some of the cool or emotional moments? When you've forgot what happened? To see if your opinion of the show has changed? To compare it to another show you watched more recently?

I basically never rewatch, unless I'm recommending a show to someone and I'll end up watching part of it as well, or if it's been several years and I don't remember it that well or I want to see if I view it differently due to having had new experiences, having new perspectives on things, including being better at appreciating certain aspects of shows (eg animation and art, which I didn't much care about when I was younger).

same

To re-enjoy/feel the same way again as I watched before.
For this I just rewatch specific moments/episodes

Whoever I'm rec'ing to always ends up only watching like 2 eps and I watch like 20. Then they'll tell me they're gonna watch ep 3 so I'll maybe watch it again, even though I just watched it recently.

Yeh I just watch clips on youtube of DBZ on the regular.

THE THING IS (whoops) watching just a clip doesn't always give you close to the proper experience. Like watching the Goku-Vegeta KKx3 and x4 is always cool and gets like 95% of the effect you'd get watching the show, but watching Vegeta's first death gets a lower % and watching something like Hijikata's "I just want the woman I love to be happy" (idk, first example I can think of) gets a low % I'd say.

I think I wanna rewatch NHK, since it's been ages. Or I might just read it instead, idk. I do wanna rewatch Honey and Clover, Haruhi Suzumiya and No. 6 soon (probably won't for a while though). I'd say Your Name and Lain are two I need less time in between to rewatch.

Yeah, some-times you need to be in the moment. Know the full context and story. Re-live it, especially for story-heavy stuff.

Watch it together with them.

I'm soooo sorry, if I ever gave-off the impression that I wanted to know your opinion.

Tried that, takes like a month to get through a few eps. Tbf some people just don't like anime. And people get put off by the high episode count, even though the eps are only 20 min, compared to Western shows that have 40-60 min episodes.

Only time it worked out was getting someone to watch Dragon Ball, in exchange for me watching Twilight Zone. But we literally lived together.

Is there anything you're thinking of rewatching?

Is there anything you rewatched and it was a lot better the second time around than the first?

Yeah, fair. It can be hard to line up schedules or even get them to want to sit down. I've had better luck with my friends but the last thing we started watching together (not rewatching) was the last Jojo part and we're still not done.

Things I wanna rewatch, probably NGE, Lain, Haibane Renmei, Cowboy Bebop.

Things I thought were better the second time around, I dunno. Maybe Jojo Part 5. I went in already knowing the plot sucked (imo) so I focused more on the humorous bits, the fight quality, the visual and sound direction.

I knew it! You've been seething ever-since you saw that comment. I could just feel the bad karma in the air.

Whenever I feel like it basically. I'm gonna start rewatching DBZ Kai because I've been craving Dragon Ball.

Mostly out of boredom and to remember what happened last time in the series.
