Why Freeza discriminates against Saiyans?

Is the any particular reason? Apart from being afraid of Super Saiyan legend. Judging by the way he talks, its obvious he has the opinion that Saiyan are a savage inferior race.

His fear was fueled by cowardice and bigotry, believing the Saiyans would betray them the moment they have a chance even though Vegeta and his father (whom he killed) were the only ones who would have a reason to

Saiyans remind me of Uchihas as far as them being overpowered in Dragon Ball’s and Naruto’s respective universes.
