Why was Gohan drawn with a tail in Movie 5?

Goku wasn't having that much trouble with the squad anyway. The most problematic was Dore's bear hug, but he was barely in that before Neiz intervened. Prior to that, he was easily dodging and blocking their assault.

Also worth noting that despite his performance against the squad, Base Goku was still powerful enough to highly impress Coola from having launched a counterattack whilst getting hit by his eye beam to the extent Coola viewed it as further evidence he was the one who beat Freeza.

Guess his performance against the Armoured Squad was due to him underestimating them a little and perhaps being in his typical warm up mode. He didn't go completely all-out against a threat who's dangerous nature he was far more aware of like Freeza, after all.

True. Cooler was somewhat impressed by Goku, but didn't think much of Piccolo at all.
