Will there be DragonBall Super movies and/or Specials?

Will there be?

I mean it's popular and with a big-screen presentation they can make a lot of money, even-though most of the original DragonBall (Z) movies sucked, so I don't expect any better here if they do make movies, unless AT writes them.

Considering they have a new department just for DragonBall at Toei, I assume there's a good possibility now.

Yeah, I can see them possibly doing TV specials and movies if they do indeed extend DBS to hundred+ episodes long like DB and Z. They might be the generic anime movie that's out of continuity with the actual show though, rather than "canon" ones like Bog.

That's what I'm thinking, too. The TV Specials could be good, though.

The thing with the movies is they can't really do anything new (since they can't reveal something that hasn't happened in the series yet, e.g. new form), so their hands are kind-of tied in that situation.

But hopefully they do kind-of make an effort if they do make them, and not just glorified re-tellings like most of the DragonBall Z ones.

Specials are fine, but remakes of arcs, no.... Bad enough they did that with BoG and FnF. We definitely do not need a movie version of Black.

However, a special showing Trunks killing Dabura and everything that happened up until he went back in time would be friggin' sweeeet!

I doubt they'd do a blatant re-telling at this point, like they did with BoG and FnF, but you never know. :idk :idk :idk

There's a possibility. TOEI has done retellings of classic arcs like One Piece's Alabasta arc.

I've heard of that and I heard that most were :trash :trash :trash .

It seems to me like Toei really doesn't care. I mean most of their so-called movies are 45 mins. at best.

Some people prefer the movies for timing and pacing but fuck that man, make more new shit and expand on shit, don't redo the same shit in a tiny package.

The pacing sucks. It's all too rushed.

Characters at time feel-out-of-character, among other. I'm talking about DragonBall Z movies. The first Cooler movie was a glorified re-telling (a shit one at that) of the Freeza Saga.

And they continued it on New Namek, the only thing they did was reverse when Cooler and Freeza were on Earth and "Namek(s)" in their organic and mecha states.

I liked the Cooler movies, but compared to the Freeza arc, are not near as great.

The movies do rush things too much, even the longer ones like BoG. Sometimes the series drags too much, anime even more... Finding a good balance escaped them a lot.

I didn't notice the dragging. Maybe because I didn't have a problem, if that did go on longer than many people minded. Other than the anime that did drag-on at times.

I believe it was already stated that there will be several more Dragon Ball Super movies after this one.
