Would Dragon save Luffy?

Ivankov makes it sound like a guarantee that Dragon would step in to save Ace before learning he wasn't his father. Would he go to war with the government if Luffy was captured? He clearly cares about Luffy as seen in flashbacks, and he was willing to save him in Loguetown. However, would he really be willing to jeopardize his life mission just to save his son?

The relationship seems similar to Gon and Ging. The father cares about him but believe that their own goals in life are more important. They believe that their sons can overcome any obstacle without their guidance because they share the same blood. If he found out Luffy was about to be executed, possibly. Otherwise, just simply being captured probably isn't enough for Dragon to just break into a Marine prison to save him. He's already aware of his acts during Ennies Lobby and Impel Down.
