They seem to be fighting evenly but then Yamcha claims to be able to beat the rest. Was he holding back until the after image?

I think he was. That was just the first fight, basically a warm up. Yamcha gets a feel of how strong the Saibamen are, finishes the fight and tries to move on to the next.

Nah, Saibaim was just fragile and with poor fighting skills. But power wise, they're almost equal.

Yamcha was strong, not much stronger but stronger. I see nothing wrong with Daizenshuu's battle powers for the humans during the fight against Nappa.

Yamcha: 1,480
Saibaman: 1,200

Though, if I was to decide, I would place Yamcha at 1,350 or 1,400 at best.
