Which would be fine if he not only pointed that out in defence of his actions, but also properly explained how and why it was for the greater good in his plan when the result is the same in Zamasu being the only being in existence once it was all done.

Also aren't most of the villain hypocritical?
Not really as they never contradicted their core beliefs and goals until Zamasu and Jiren. Having a direct opposition to your plans and not wanting them to succeed is far from the same as having core beliefs in your plan you abandon without the slightest forethought when convenient.

Not saying Zamasu is a perfect villain but compare to the other villain he stands out to me.
Only on paper. When seeing how he executes his plan and what the end result means, he's no different from Cell or Boo. If anything, Boo has more going for him since Fat Boo at least had some level of internal conflict.

Didn't Zamasu already said that Gods made a mistake hence he eliminated them when he explained it to Vegito about having the body of gods failure and mortal sins? Surely that explained why he killed the gods for their mistake on seeing the mortals.

I think people over-rate this gai. Sure he has motivations slightly different from the cookie-cutter generic villain who's all about ruling the entire universe but he's so one dimensional in the anime.

He's one dimensional in the manga as well. :shc

Not as bad as the anime. He's slightly more interesting in the manga, and much less grating.

Manga Zamasu is at least competent enough to have wiped out all the humans of Trunks' timeline bar Trunks and Mai, as well as not letting the Saiyans go back to the past twice in a row, though it's basically comparing a solid turd to diarrhoea.

In what way? From what I've seen they're identical characters. :shc

Well tbf in the anime Gowasu and :shin only appeared just prior to the final fight while in the manga they saved Trunks and Mai after Vegeta and Galu escaped. Still makes the anime's writing shittier though since they escaped more often than in the manga and the Zamasu's really didn't have a way to follow them to the past until they became Infinite Zamasu.

Manga Zamasu only got far due to the stupidity of Goku and Vegeta. :et

I found Black more entertaining in the anime. As for Zamasu (which Black can also be called)... I found them the same. Maybe I'd give an edge to the anime as well :troll

Captain Cadaver What'd be the difference -- in regards to how they executed their intentions -- between Zamasu and Light Yagami? While is undeniable that Light put far more thought than Zamasu on his scheme (because DN's battle is simply more complex than Super's), both can be quite comparable characters: they desired to kill whoever they thought didn't deserve a second chance and still ended up killing people both considered to be good ones and the ones who suffered from the condemneds' 'sins' -- Zamasu killing the other Gods and Light killing non-criminals -- all with the purpose of fulfillng their goals.

Pacing would be the most obvious. Though Light doesn't have too much of an arc, we see far more of a progression in how extreme he goes and how much he's willing to sacrifice for his ideals, whereas Zamasu went from zero to insane with the events triggering this being very basic.
Also, secrecy is another deciding factor. Although Zamasu did try not to go under Zen-Oh's radar, he still made a lot of dumb decisions in which he dropped the ball such as showing up to heal Black when he could've easily had Black retreat and return or being so arrogant as to think there was no way for the Saiyans to escape when he should be fully aware of the time traveller amongst them. By comparison, Light at least never announced his plans to a group of people until he was absolutely sure of his victory, even if he was eventually mistaken with that.

not as much ningen, subarashii, kami etc. :giraffe :giraffe :giraffe

He still rambles on and on about humans, and gods. The only difference is that Goku Black also rambles on about it too. :shc

Goku-Black in the manga is just a bitch. Has a 1:2 win-loss ratio to Vegeta and almost had a falling out with himself.

They were never a threat in the manga. If Goku and Vegeta had simply teamed up they would have won. It's a common theme.
