How come he wasn't trained by Mihawk to wield it in a similar fashion to Luffy?

Mihawk didn't know he had the ability (not did Zoro). Rayleigh and Luffy both knew he possessed it.

You believe he used it against Mihawk at Baratiea tho.

That's true. Maybe because Zoro hadn't tapped into it like Luffy had? Even if he did use it at Baratie, it would have likely been similar to how Kaku could sense a demonic aura coming from him. It may not have been a full blown release of Haoshoku Haki.

I'm not sure though. Mihawk didn't seem to be as dedicated of a mentor as Rayleigh was so I can see him omitting things that he felt were outside of Zoro's skill level.

Maybe it lends more to the theory that Mihawk doesn't have CoC wouldn't have the sufficient knowledge of teaching Zoro the skill to use it.

Did Zoro infuse his attack with Haoshoku against Kaido, or was the usage more superficial (like Luffy vs Doflamingo, Chin Jao, etc.)?
