I think I might have made this thread before, but I really don’t remember. My view on DragonBall canon today is.

Movies:
Battle of Gods is canon.
Fukkatsu no F is canon.
Broly is canon.
Super-Hero is canon.

Yo! Son-Goku is canon too.

In Broad-strokes & common-points (dialogue & moments & characters & story) in both manga & anime:
Universe 6 vs Universe 7 is canon
Future-Trunks saga is canon
Tournament of Power is canon

Canon, but only in manga:
Manga-exclusive arcs

This makes sense.

The fact that Goku & Trunks had a sparring-match to test Trunks’ power after he came-back to the past is common to both, but I doubt AT wrote in what form Goku fights. They spar & Trunks reveals he powered-up & SSJ2 & Goku defeats him (& maybe some-other things). That’s all.

considering IIRC Broly movie implied Saiya-Jin god power was still absorbed in their normal forms, maybe that’s what’s truly canon & the rest of inconsistencies (especially from Toei) are just that.

I don’t know I’d just assume if Broly was rising that rapidly & eventually reached SSJ-Blue+, then his power makes sense to be that high. Do you think he’d start at regular base?

I think you can say most of Future Trunks saga & Universe 6 vs Universe 7 are in-common bet-ween manga & anime (except the many filler added-in by anime), but what are the canon-events for Tournament of Power?

I’d say:

1. Boo sleeps thus Freeza takes his place.
2. Goku heads to hell & brings Freeza over.
3. Piccolo helps Gohan by training him before tournament (though off-screen in manga).
4. Most of Goku going to #17 for help except the filler stuff with the fight against the evil people in space-ship.
5. Yamcha gag
6. Goku lies to others regarding tournament (IIRC).
7. Freeza telling Frost to go after earth people.
8. Freeza betraying & eliminating Frost.
9. Jiren over-whelming Hit’s time-powers & eliminating him & fight bet-ween Hit & Jiren in-general.
10. Caulifla & Kale fuse to Kefla.
11. Ultra-Instinct
12. Freeza eliminating Jiren (by teaming-up with Goku).
13. #17 Is the last male standing.
14. #17’s wish.
15. Vegeta vs Toppo (kind-of).
16. Freeza bothering Universe 6 Saiya-Jins (kind-of).
17. Kale’s transformation
18. #18 vs Ribrianne

I think Frost eliminating Kuririn was just co-incidental similarity.

Was Vegeta & Cabba’s conversation canon? I don’t even remember it. Was Bills trying but not being able to reach Ultra-Instinct canon the way it was said?

I don’t really see it that way. Well, the manga is definitely more canon, but what is definitely canon is most likely the Broad-Strokes & commonality bet-ween them. Those happened with-out a doubt, right?!

More I think:
19. Cabba inviting Caulifla (including some specifics)
20. Goku vs Robbers & getting hurt which happens at very beginning which is reason for Goku remembering tournament IIRC (including all specifics)
21. Cabba teaching Caulifla SSJ
22. Champa’s “good-bye” to Bills
23. Goku vs low Pride-Troopers (even-though he won a-lot easier in manga)

Not canon is Caulifla’s brother & Cabba & Caulifla reaching SSjin2 & even some-other forms during the tournament (all Toei additions).

Was Hit offering for Goku to team-up with him vs Jiren & Goku declining in both versions?

I think the manga canon is more canon than the anime canon.

But they are separate continuities at the end of the day. A crossover canon is what you are actually talking about here.

The manga IS more canon than the anime to me too.

The anime counts filler too like Captain-Ginyu filler.

I wonder how the Zamasu Saga happened in Toriyama’s version of the events. In the anime Black is surpassed with just normal training, but in the manga Vegeta needs to learn how to better use SSJB.

Vegetto wasn’t in Toriyama’s draft, but Toei and Toyotaro including him makes it canon. These two came up with a lot of important characters and plot points.

Yesterday I was talking to p123/Power Level Guy and he thinks Toyotaro came up with Piccolo vs Frost. What do you think?

Why? Doesn’t it make sense, if Piccolo is going to be in tournament it’d only make sense he’d fight some-one, right?

Also is the KHH like attack Caulifla uses in manga red? I saw on GooGle & coloured version seems to go by red, but then again it’s slightly different. Caulifla stretches entire hand for that attack in anime, where-as in manga not, but if colour is real then they are both red blasts.
