Vegeeta wasn't even fighting back until he turned SS1. Gohan fires a Ki blast at Vegeeta. Vegeeta dodges. Gohan kicks and punches Vegeeta before driving his face into the pavement. Then it turns into a bunch of Ki blasts being spammed.

Four chapters were spent on BoG. The most important bits were shown and that's all that matters. You can't say the movie's still canon when Birus has been retconned to be astronomically stronger than SSG Gokuu.

He's just going through all of the transformations that he currently uses. The main forms have always been SS1, SS2, and SS3. At the end of the day, he didn't say SS4, so until Toei comes out and sets the record, it's ambiguous.

It was Toriyama's idea, but Toriyama changes his mind on stuff all the time. We don't know if it's still canon as the BoG film was retconned away along with its mentioning of Tarble.

I don't think it'll be named SS4. You'd think Gokuu would have just called it it that in this episode. Gotta set it apart from GT's version.
