Umm... can't really say I can find a suitable character for this battle that I'm comfortable with and actually know. I'll wait for the next batch of matchups to bring someone in.

Okay cool. How would Karla handle space itself being frozen around her?

Okay, I am going to sound like an idiot here...

Do you mean, like, freezing cold space outside of Earth's atmosphere?

Or freezing space and time?

Like immobilizing space around her so she cannot move.

I don't have a specific instance of this having happened. And while I can't say that she can 100% defend this, I have some circumstances that tell me freezing space would not be a deal breaker.

1) Early in her career as a super villain, Moonstone was able to navigate the Darkforce dimension. In Marvel. The Darkforce dimension has wonky space time properties. Not frozen space/time per say, but we are in the ballpark.

2) During my posts about Morgan Le Fay, I briefly touched on her battling the Dark Avengers single handedly. During this battle, Moonstone was one of the few members who was able to come anywhere close to doing any damage to Le Fay, who can manipulate space and time with ease, although how comparable this is to Caster's ability is unknown. Anyway, Moonstone effectively used her Intangibility to avoid being sucked back into time, frozen in time, and cast into another dimension.

3) Her Intangibility. This is a limited ability, and she can't do it forever. More like controlled bursts lasting a minute or two. This ability is specifically described as using gravity manipulation in order to achieve this state. Now stick with me on this part: but Space is defined, academically, as the field on which molecules are able to move. And molecular movement is highly defined by gravity. So one cannot freeze space without freezing gravity.

So my conclusion is that the two abilities would likely cancel each other out.
:nice

It's time to revive this thread (sorry for being lazy). I'd rather just do a new fight here, if that's cool with you.

Alright, I'm gonna bring in this crazy girl

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Mugino Shizuri</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">
Xhh9BiX.gif

Mugino Shizuri is the 4th-ranked Level 5 and is the leader of ITEM, a mercenary group in the Dark Side of Academy City. Shizuri plays an antagonistic role to the 3rd-ranked Level 5 Misaka Mikoto in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun and is the archnemesis of Hamazura Shiage for most of her run in the original Toaru Majutsu no Index. She is relentless in battle, and combined with her destructive powers, makes her a very dangerous opponent to face.

Shizuri's ability is the Meltdowner, with the technical classification as Particle Waveform High-Speed Cannon. As electrons have the properties of both particles and waves, Shizuri's ability allows her to forcibly control electrons in the "ambiguous" state of an electron where it is both particle and wave, and when they strike other objects the electrons are unable to react either as particle or a wave because of their state. Normally, electrons had a mass that was close to zero, but because they are stuck or "stopped" at this state they take the form of a seemingly solid object, which has become a pseudo-"wall" due to the "stopped" state, and then creating a highly destructive beam of high-speed electrons that pierces through a target at the same velocity that it was fired. As it is a form of electron manipulation, the ability allows her to affect electric attacks, allowing her to bend their trajectory, such as those done by Misaka Mikoto. Likewise, Mikoto can bend Meltdowner using her ability as well.

The ability usually takes on the form of a high-speed beam of light that can easily melt through thick metal walls and cause explosions on things like refine alcohol with its heat alone. Shizuri can create four beams at once, create a shield out of it that can disintegrate objects upon contact and block shockwaves. By December of the timeline, Shizuri can now create and use up to twenty beams at once.

Moreover, another radical application of this are limbs, like her Meltdowner arm. Also, by emitting a power similar to a rocket, it can perform high-speed evasion that is fast enough to escape an explosion.

She has loads of experience in fights, being in the mercenary group called ITEM. She will assess a situation calmly and think of a logical tactic, instead of just jumping into a fight. Later in the series, she descends more and more into being crazy as fuck, but she eventually shakes herself of that and returns to her normal self.</div>

Sorry for the delay.

Here's Hisako Ichiki, aka Armor, one of the newer X-Men on the block.
<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">
3269910-0792556602-23973.jpg

Hisako Ichiki is a Japanese born mutant who was recruited to the X-Men shortly after the emergence of her latent powers. Going by the nickname "Amror", she was trained by Kitty Pryde, Cyclops, and later Wolverine, and has been active in the field for several years. Despite this, she isn't cold and tactical. Rather, she is pretty much a teenage girl who is capable of keeping her head in otherwise crazy, destructive situations.

Her ability is not unlike Mugino's in certain ways, although it seems to be utilized differently. Hisako can generate psionically powered "armor" that forms over her body, granting her greater protection and strength. Unlike many other similar forms of this ability, Hisako's armor takes on the properties and look of a general huminoid shape, with a head, arms and legs, allowing her to punch, kick and grab.

The armor also increases her agility and stamina. The source of her power, while technically a mutation, comes from the bloodline of her ancestors. The size and strength of this armor increases depending on how many of her family members die. With some thought, she can change forms into other creatures or make crude claws and stabbing objects.

Normally, Hisako's field generates a form of about eight feet tall. She can, on her own, increase the size and power of this form. However, this comes with a drawback, as the more power she uses, and the longer she has to sustain this form while under duress leaves Hisako drained and fatigued. In most circumstances, she sticks with the "basic form" which gives her the most efficient amount of time to fight.

Hisako increasing her size to that of a NY city office building.

Strength-wise, Hisako is able to lift about 40 tonnes total when in her basic form. She has feats such as lifting and throwing tanks, punching equally strong individuals through several concrete walls, and assisting in holding down a ship that was trying to leave the atmosphere.

As far as durability, Hisako's armor is extremely tough. It has allowed her to survive a fall through Earths orbit. Upon impact, she had no visible damage and was able to walk away unscathed. While nearly indestructible, it does have some weaknesses. Special metals can penetrate it, depending on the specifics of the properties. Also, highly concentrated lasers can do some damage; the higher the concentration, the better the penertation. Hisako does, as was mentioned earlier, does have a limit on how long she can use the armor.

Lastly, when all else fails, Hisako can cause her armor to release a massive psyionic concussion blast but this takes a lot of concentration and effort.

Interesting choice here, I like it. I'm unsure of how to compare the two, though. How fast is she exactly? She can lift a hell of a lot and I'm sure a hit from her with the armor would do Mugino in, cause shes only a normal human in every aspect except for her power.

Heres a video of Mugino fighting against Misaka Mikoto, the Railgun, a character I've used previously. I couldn't find a youtube video of it so here is a link to the actual episode: http://kissanime.com/Anime/Toaru-Kagaku-no-Railgun-S/Episode-009?id=38212

Here I am! :elmo

I saw these two matching up well initially. Obviously we each know a bit more about the characters we individually chose, so we will see. But for Hisako, her speed and agility is peak human, nothing special, which is mostly enhanced to that level by her armor. While her size can change, there is no mention of her other abilities getting a major boost from that.

Again, her strength is maxed out at 40 tons, which is a lot, but not spectacular.

For the matchup, I like this because it appears to be an offense vs defense type of battle. Mugino can attack from a distance, and can do so with some formidable firepower. She is well educated in battle, is methodical and a tactician. She also seems to have no problem killing if it is justified. Correct me if I am misguided on any of this.

For Hisako, she is the defensive side of this fight. Her power is armor, obviously, so she has to get up close and personal. She has to be a brute, punching and kicking her way through. And while Hisako is well trained in strategy and fighting, she is far from being a master tactician. She's just smart and well prepared. At the end of the day, she is more of a regular girl, emotions and all.

Hisako has the power advantage, to be sure, but it isn't a landslide. Mugino has the mental and tactical edge. Mugino can weaken and penetrate Hisako's armor, given time.

I feel that the longer the fight goes on, the more of an edge Mugino has.

I'm inclined to agree with you on that last bit there. Mugino is a scary bitch man. The video I showed you was her being pretty fuckin calm haha. When she gets crazy, oh god. That being said, the defense that Hisako has is great and I think this matchup is a good fight, it really could go either way. I think if Hisako got in close enough to hit Mugino's body fast enough, she would win.
