Let's start with He-Man's Power Sword.

latest

The Power Sword was given to He-Man by the Sorceress of Eternia. He-Man's sword is rumored to actually be empowered by the Goddess, Eternia's most worshipped deity, since the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull is viewed increasingly by Goddess worshippers as being empowered by the Goddess herself, or even an incarnation of the deity.

It is the key to transforming into He-Man, "the Most Powerful Man in the Universe," and transforming his cowardly pet tiger, Cringer, into the fierce and brave Battle Cat. The Power Sword is, as far as the mythology tells, is unbreakable and can deflect all known energy projectiles, whether magical or scientific.

As for his breastplate, the harness was made of an Eternian mineral (corodite) which helped add to his physical strength. Officially, it is a x10 increase in terms of the power he gains.

He-Man also has his trusty pet, Battlecat, a half dragon, half tiger hybrid with human level intellingence. He weighs approximately 5,000 pounds, stands at 1.8 meter tall, and is extremely powerful, with abilities such as super speed, super strength, and a roar that causes an earthquake. He is also violent, vicious, and fearless. It is implied that if he is left alone, he will go on an unstoppable rampage.

Here's a few extra additions to He-Man's abilities.

He is able to blow, using the full-capacity of his lungs, a gust of wind powerful enough to knock over most opponents (similar to Superman's "super-breath").

Able to transform himself into a human tornado (sometimes with the aid of spinning his sword) to divert objects, or even fly short distances on rare occasions.

He has run at extremely high speeds, creating a vacuum like force which traps his oppenents.

The roar that causes an earthquake is funny cause Shinobu's scream does the same thing lol. At this point, what do you think? I'm finding it hard to figure this one out.

I've spent some time cosidering this, and the two of them seem to be pretty damn even. It's really hard to say who would be the first to go down.

I will say that He-Man has never lost, l0l. He is also a pacifists, and mostly uses his power to incapacitate his foes, since he tries to avoid fighting. That leads me to believe a bloodlusted He-Man could really fuck up some stuff.

Do we give points for best theme song? Cause He-Man got that in the bag. :p

Shinobu hasn't really lost either hahah. She got her limbs stolen cause of a special case and didn't really fight the people who did that. She also had her heart stolen from her without her realizing and lived without for a while haha.

But yeah I think they're pretty even here, not much else to be said I don't think. Wanna bring in some new guys?

Sounds good. I got nothing on these two, so we have our first draw in this matchup thread. That can only happen for the awesomest of characters.

This is Basil Karlo, the original Clayface. In his first introduction he was shown as a serial killer and theature actor. He would use clay molds and props to disguise himself, thereby fooling his victims, as well as the authorities, in order to continue killing. He was, of course, eventually stopped by Batman.

Later on, he gains the powers that turn him into the more familiar version of the character, much like the rendition on the animated series. As the wiki states, "being chemically altered gave him the ability to regenerate body mass, change shape, size, density and shapeshift into any form he could think of".

He's fashioned clubs, maces, axes and things of that nature from his body.

Clayface can shapeshift into the appearance of other people and objects. He has superhuman strength, but this is more on the level of throwing cars or punching through walls. Stamina and durability are also rather suitable for any death battle.

What makes Clayface sort of unique is that his touch basically results in instant death. It works via a poison that melts the body into goo. This isn't haxed, howerver, as it only works on living flesh. It is an ability he is able to control at will.

That's very fair. He's like a beefed up T-1000.

I'll bring in Lucy!

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">
kBVlnA5.gif

Lucy is the main character, protagonist and anti-heroine/anti-villainess of the Elfen Lied series. The so-called 'Queen' Diclonius. The Diclonius are a newly evolved species, arising from and very similar to average Humans, but possessing psychokinetic abilities far beyond any Human. For reasons that may be cultural as well as biological, they are often at odds with Humans to the point of threatening to replace them as Earth's dominant sentient species.

Lucy (also known as Kaede and Nyu) was an individual difficult to pin down by any standard "good or evil" social mores. She was both ruthlessly tormented and was a sadistic tormentor to others, driven to a mental break at an early age by the cruelty that surrounded her. Though she never expected to receive love and acceptance from others, occasionally she got the chance to see such things are indeed possible for someone like her to obtain. Her great love was Kouta, a boy she met when they were children and again when they were young adults.

The Diclonius have special, invisible arms called vectors. Vectors are the Diclonius' invisible *arms*, likely telekinetic in nature and origin. Vectors can become visible if their vibration frequency is high enough. The number of vectors varies between Diclonii (the most being fifty on #35), and they can be between two and eleven meters long. Vectors are called arms, but they are in fact powerful energy weapons that the Diclonii likely visualize as arms. They can destroy or repel all but the densest materials, notable exceptions being the specialized prison doors at the Diclonius Research Institute and the fifty-caliber shells like those used in the AW50F and the Desert Eagle. The vectors vibrate so fast that they act like a microvibrating saw and easily shred through human flesh. Here are some examples are these things.

Lucy's Vector Range: 5m
Vector Special Abilities: Cell reconstruction/restoration, giving a healing ability. Ability to use vectors in the "sleeping state" (as Nyu, but they are far weaker) and while in pain. Like those of other powerful Diclonius, they can also vibrate so fast that they become visible.

Thoughts?

My kind of girl.

How well does Lucy take damage? Can she take a beating more than the average Joe?

Hm, its hard to say. I don't think she's really been beaten down that bad, but she can take some pretty extraordinary hits. Her vectors are also quick enough and touch enough to stop bullets, just throwing that in there.

That helps. I just wanted to make sure she doesn't go down as easy as an ordinary human. Can she shake of cuts and hits that might give you or I a great deal of pain?

This is a good matchup, because the two of them have different strengths and weaknesses. Clayface is physically stronger and maybe better at improve fighting because he can manipulate his body. But the vectors are fast enough to dismember a lot of the weapons he can create and slow him down, making Lucy faster.

Let me ask you something, and this isn't a troll. What would happen if Clayface turned into Kouta, her long lost love? Is she the type who might fall for something like this, or at least be stunned by it, or is Lucy a sharp tack who would not go for any of that nonesense.

This isn't out of the ordinary for Clayface. During the Hush storyline, he turned into Jason Todd, a deceased Robin, and temporarily fooled Batman into thinking he had gone mad.

Hm, I would say she would slice his head right off haha. Lucy is a pretty fuckin crazy bitch man haha. She's super fast on her feet too, well her vectors. She can move around similar to a doctor octopus kind of character who walks on extra legs.

What's the extent of Clayface's regen?

It's solid, but not hax. I'd compare it to what we discussed for Araragi, since Clayface doesn't have a vital organ, such as a brain, to target. He is weak to extreme temps. It usuallt takes him a couple seconds to regen a limb.

Clayface is pretty good at hiding and deception. He likes to sort of turn to muk and slink through the shadows or turn into an object/person to blend into a setting. Then he strikes at a vulnerable moment.

How about Lucy's perception regarding this? Is she a hot head or can she asses a scenario pretty well?

She is like the definition of calm in a fight situation. Expressionless, observant, not even close to hot headed or anything like that. Generally her fights involve her standing in one place and her vectors fuckin mangling everybody is a 5m radius lol.

I'm have work for a couple hours. I'll think about this and post when I am finished, or in the morning should I sleep. It will be like 2 am lol.

This is a pretty even matchup on the surface, and I say it could go either way. I may watch a few episodes of the batman animated series, since I wannt to break this one down more. These guys match up well despite being very different and not al powerful.

So its safe to say that Clayface would not have much of a psychological advantage if Lucy is as cold as you say. So any sort of intimidation goes right out the window.

How are Lucy's abilities in a prolonged fight? I can see she is fully capable of decapitating many men in a single instant. But what happens when she can't do that right away? Let's say the fight drags on a little, for five minutes, ten minutes, and so on. Clayface can keep up, and doesn't have to worry about stamina.

So if they were to take this to the limit, does Lucy have the ability to hang in there? I'm using a Mike Tyson analogy here: in the first few rounds, he is an absolute animal, but as the fight goes on, you can see his skills become more and more limited. He doesn't have the endurance or discipline to stay focused and fresh.

Do you see this problem with Lucy? I'm curious if there are any instances of her "going the distance" in a long battle, or does she usually end that shit in two seconds flat?

Hm, again its hard to say. However, she has fought others of her own kind, which is a much more intense fight than fighting say the armed special forces design to capture her. As far as I can remember, she hasn't been in a super long fight, but has consistently fought with another Diclonius in a decent fight.
