They don't have to save the day. Piccolo should've incapacitated them earlier so they couldn't interfere at that point, it would've felt a bit more believable.

I still don't understand how Piccolo just didn't step to the side or something to avoid Goku's headbutt.

23rd is my least favorite TB.

Why? We know Piccolo, Gohan and Krillen cannot save the day against Freeza when Goku is fighting him, why does this seem so different to you? Piccolo is just on a whole different level. Piccolo doesn't find out until the last second and he is heavily fatigued. It's really not that bad.

I would've preferred it ended after Goku blasted him. The headbutt always felt really lame.
