I realize I’m late responding to this news, but that’s because the day I read about it I just couldn’t believe it. I actually thought this may have been a hoax, and it only took a few days for the realization to fully hit me. Personally I was more sad when Miura died but that was because Berserk was his life work and he died with it unfinished, even if it was on a high note in spite of the cliffhanger. However, Toriyama’s death has impacted me more as a person, and I feel more of a loss when it comes to his death. May he rest in peace.

Here are some comments from people that Kanzenshuu doesn't have listed. I know Ushio Hashimoto made a comment to I believe but I can't find it anymore:

Mutsumi Tamura (seiyuu also voiced the MC in the last AT related anime project that wasn't DragonBall DAIMA. Can't remember the name right-now):
Takayoshi Tanimoto (DragonBall Kai singer):
Hiroki Takahashi (not the seiyuu, but singer. Sang the OG DragonBall song - Makafushigi-Adventure):
Kappei Yamaguchi (you know him):
YUKA (sang tons of DragonBall songs on CDs, but also on TV-series, such-as supporting vocals for Kimi ga Hero (Movie 6 ED), Mind-Power...Ki, amongst others):

Maybe my fav. YUKA song though is:

Toriyama died and our lives went on like nothing changed.

I don't get why some people were acting like they were greatly impacted by his death when they never even met him.

It's not greatly impact in the sense we won't carry on with our lives... People will carry on, saddening things happen, but that doesn't stop ppl from living normally. Which doesn't mean his death has had no impact, it had... No one knows him personally ofc, but he is the one who created a story that had an impact on many fans' childhood and hold a special value in ppl's memories... That in itself is enough reason to see his death as saddening and impactful considering his imagination, his creativity made moments of our life shine brighter still. And sadly, it also came with heavy sacrifice, as he was, in a way, pressured to keep writing it even when he was not with the same energy and health to commit to that schedule... Which is part of what made him less healthy over the years, so it's also saddening in the sense we are all enjoying his work, having at some moments real fun with the discussions, but it came with a price for him, who put on this heavy work, which took a toll on his life. You try acting too childishly smartass sometimes, man...

There are weirdos who compared his death to losing a loved one. That's stupid because losing loved ones is something that would stop people from living normally.

Not one of us met Toriyama. His death was hard for his family and friends. For everyone else, it had no real impact.

Yeah, you can still read and watch that story. Toriyama dying doesn't stop you from doing that.

Toriyama largely retired back in 1995, so that's very unlikely.

If anything, his decision to be a heavy smoker is what took on a toll on his health. But considering he died from a brain bleed, it's more likely he just hit his head at some point in his later years. Tracing that to his drawing habits is a stretch.

You've been ready for three years....like a mysterious anime character who turns uo and saves the MC, settling his old grudge with the villain. You probably could've got me in that same thread, cuz I don't remember it.

Just like Dragon Ball. You spend six months on an epic quest to find the dragon balls, save the whole world, bring back a fallen ally.

Then the guy you revived dies a year later and you have to find space dragon balls. :troll
