Vegeta pre-power-up was still superior to Goku, I think. Once he got his guard back-up, he easily kicked Goku.

Yeah, hence why I said Kaioken and Kaiokenx2 are probably the same.

On your list there, Vegeta is equal to Goku, though.

I have them equals because otherwise Vegeta's power up would be extremelly small. They being equal don't contradict that much though, since Goku punched Vegeta in the face and kicked him, followed by Vegeta easily recovering in midair and kicked Goku in the face.

Goku caught him off guard, I think. Vegeta re-bounded really fast.

I don't know if Vegeta was fully off guard since after this little exchange the Prince said he expected more about Goku's power. Besides Goku broke the rocks in an attempt to get Vegeta and later charged at him:

I definitely think he caught him off-guard. Goku's power just doubled and he probably didn't expect that, since before that he wasn't even trying and winning the fight. Once he got his wits together, he re-bounded fast and kicked Goku away.

It is possible that Kaioken Goku and Vegeta are equal before he powers up. I'd personally have a small advantage though.

"Where's your power?! This isn't how you defeated Nappa!!"

And he just saw how Goku power doubled when finishing Nappa.

I did forget that, but Vegeta had no scouter so he probably wasn't too sure whether it doubled or not. Just saying.

About Goku catching him off-guard, I think that makes sense, because Goku just used it after getting casually toyed with by Vegeta. Vegeta couldn't sense Ki at this point, so other than the other aura he probably couldn't tell that Goku got higher.

He might have been able to tell how powerful he was by his speed.

Yeah, I checked now and Vegeta didn't specify Goku's power multipling, only rapidly increasing.

That'd be noticeable of-course, but I'm not sure whether he'd be able to exactly tell that that was 2x.

Well, I'm not saying that he might not expect a power-increase, just that he can't tell when it'll happen. He can't sense Ki after-all, and wasn't fighting at full-power nor seriously before, so there's a chance he can get caught off-guard that way. That's what it looked to me like, anyway.
