The art is phenomenal, but not even close to Miura's in Volume 41. I feel like this transition is for the best for the rest of the Manga, however. Miura just didn't have it in him to draw the final story arc and whatever high tier fights that came with it.

I can't wait to see Skull Knight here too, although he and Guts still won't be able to do much of anything to Griffith, let alone the rest of the Black Swordsman Party VS Griffith. All Hell will break lose on Elf Island.

It's pretty interesting to see Griffith dodge Guts using his demon god-like powers rather than just stand there waiting for Zodd to intercept Guts' blows. Wonder if this ability is something Studio Gaga came up with on their own based on the powers Femto previously displayed, or if it was in Miura's notes or in the rough outline of the story he told to Mori.

I also wonder if the relative lack of dialogue in these past 2 chapters is due to the limited nature of them only doing the story beats Mori was told by Miura, and it'll be the way most chapters are handled from here on to stay as true to their limited knowledge of Miura's vision as they can... or if the primarily visual display we see here is mainly due to this being the first meeting between sane Casca and Griffith and the first time Guts actually was near Griffith in 20 volumes.and 30 years

Pleasantly surprised by these two chapters. I'd be fine if the dialogue was generally suppressed, but there are also certain things that will require in depth explanations before the end of the manga. Curious to see how they handle it.

Honestly felt like it could have been one chapter to me. The art is good and the aftermath of Griffith showing up is generally what I expected. I love the completely unnecessary casca tiddy they added

Mori did essentially say he wouldn't deviate from what he remembered as to be faithful to Miura. I imagine a swift and concise end for that reason. We'll probably speed to the finish now.

I personally wouldn't mind if they took liberties and did their own stuff but I understand the reasoning.

They did say an entire arc is headed our way after the next 4 chapters following this batch, so it'll definitely be several years before we're close to the finish line.

So what do we make of Guts vs Griffith? With Griffith clearly being immune to all attacks, what chance does Guts have?

Maybe Griffith will try and fail to upgrade himself into a true God similar to Father from FMA and a combination of a DragonSlayer strike and of Skully's Sword of Actuation will end him. It's honestly too early to say, plus killing the Moonlight Boy doesn't seem like something Guts would do when any idiot can figure out that is his own child's personality taking control of his body back.
