Its a shame the chapters aren't longer, but it's good that Guts is getting some character development and things are taking a turn for the dark again.

I hate seeing Guts so defeated man, especially right after he finally found peace.

Griffith always cucked Guts starting in the Eclipse. I think this defeat was necessary so that Guts reaffirmed his resolve to stop Griffith and his demon empire. The pacing still seems excessively fast though.

Plus, Guts needs to somehow or other defeat the Godhand and the Idea of Evil in his lifetime since all people involved with Demonkind in some way (even victims like Vargas) are destined to go to Hell. Guts can have no true peace without defeating them.

Reread the last volume and I caught up on the new stuff. Obviously no substitute for Miura's Berserk but still really good.

They're hiring new artists so more than likely the art will only get better and better. I just hope the principal members of the studio don't move onto other projects before Berserk is completed. Miura would've wanted Mori and Studio Gaga to finish in his stead.

I think if Guts does defeat Griffith somehow it will be with the assist from Schierke.
