So this arc continues to be a complete piece of trash? Good to know.

The last chapters have been following the same structure. Fight with Granolah, lose, fight again, end in a cliffhanger that will do shit. Rinse and repeat.

Basically, Toyotaro is prolonging the fight just for the sake of it. It wouldn't even bother me much if at least the fight scenes were worth a damn.

The Bardock aspect is the only interesting part of this chapter, but the only way it even matters is if it becomes an important part of the story and explores him a bit, maybe letting Goku learn about his father. However, I'm concerned this will be nothing but a cheap plot device and name drop only to be thrown away later on.

That’s why Toriyama is the one writing this saga:kermit
Toriyama may be writing the notes, but we don't know how detailed certain aspects of the script are, Toriyama's publicly admitted a few times for scripts like Broly that he doesn't put much detail into the fight scenes. Ultimately its Toyo who's the one adapting it in his own way, remember he's the one who designed the Heeters and Granolah. The dude has way more influence nowadays than a lot of people are willing to admit.

I'm sadly worried for the inclusion of Bardock. Why the fuck would he save the Namekians? God, they just keep stripping away the anti-hero qualities that made him interesting in the first place. "Canon" Bardock is trash.

He’s literally credited as the writer now. He’s doing the script while Toyble does just art.
