Android 8 is brought back to life after the Earth (GOAT planet btw) is destroyed. He's shown in DB Super and in the Z anime.

But Android 16 couldn't be brought back to life, because he wasn't made from a human. Plothole? Or did Shenron lie? Fucking snake.

Lol no, Ki itself is life energy. Seventeen and Eighteen clarify that they lack life energy in the Moro arc.

Genki is just general energy. The Genkidama takes all sorts of energy including life energy (Ki) and the artificial energy of the androids.
