could Goku's new form be 50x stronger than Blue?

The large gap implied between CSSB Vegeta and Beerus makes Base Vegetto > SSB Goku seem more reasonable now, along with the comparative reactions from Merged Zamasu about these two making it hard to refute.

Do you think Merged Zamasu was stronger than, say, a hypothetical SSJG Vegetto? It seems to be implied so by Vegetto going straight to SSJB.

Impossible given the gap between CSSB Vegeta (who should be at least equal to Merged Zamasu) and Beerus, as well as the fairly small gap between SSG and SSB. Vegetto most likely just wanted to show off his full superiority to Zamasu.

Can't the gap between SSJG and SSJB be enough to fit Beerus in between?

Vegeta/Goku SSJB : 100
Vegetto base : 150
Vegetto SSJ : 300
Vegetto SSJ2 : 450
Vegetto SSJ3 : 900
Vegetto SSJG : 2,000
Vegetto SSJB : 4,000

CSSJB Vegeta/Goku : 2,100

Merged Zamasu : 2,100

Beerus : 3,800

With this, Beerus would be almost 2x stronger than Vegeta CSSJB. Plenty of a gap, no?

It can fit Beerus in between, but not Merged Zamasu when CSSB will likely serve as the equivalent of Kaioken if the battle against Toppo goes similarly to the anime.

Being so much stronger that Whis wasn't worried about Beerus being harmed at all by Vegeta, along with Beerus stating Vegeta would need another million years to surpass him, along with the recent leak of Beerus taking on all the other Hakaishin when Vegeta's only powerful enough to be considered a candidate for another Universe all point to the gap between them being far, far greater than a measly 2x.

You're forgetting that Merged Zamas was viewing Base Vegetto as a challenge. You have to account for all of Vegetto's forms after that, he's going to end up being waaaaayyyyy stronger than Merged Zamas when using Blue. Then there's Kaioshin saying "He may be stronger than Beerus now!" when Blue Vegetto is charging up a Final Kamehameha. If CSSB only matches Merged Zamas that means Beerus is still far, far above Vegeta or Goku in the manga.
