Gap between Cell and Goku. What do you think it is?

Why would they not do damage? Majin Vegeta was pretty damaged after battling Goku. If they were truly even, Cell's attacks wouldn't be doing nothing to Gohan, especially when Cell himself thought he had killed Gohan with one attack.

Keyword is thought. In actuality, Gohan's ki didn't drop in the slightest showing he wasn't damaged by Cell's attacks. Even Piccolo pointed out that Gohan might have the power to defeat Cell like Goku was banking on but in his current state of mind he couldn't unleash that power.

It depends, are you saying that Gohan was stronger or Cell was stronger? I like to say equal for pragmatic reasons but I can definitely see Gohan being a bit stronger and just lacking the resolve and confidence to defeat Cell.

I like it. Might make true speed Cell 145, and Gohan 135.

Cell true speed should be stronger than Gohan IMO.
