The early arc's fine imo, especially compared to a good percentage of manga out there. It just doesn't measure up to anything else in the manga from the halfway point of the Golden Age and onwards.

The series' art seemed to peak at around the Kushan Arc and early events of Fantasia such as the Sea God, before Miura started doing things digitally.
