Goku and Vegeta's union via the Potara is no different than the fusion of two other people who are equally as strong as they are, and happen to be rivals as well. And two people who are stronger than that would produce an even more powerful fusion. I don't get how any of that translates to Goku and Vegeta producing some unmatched result that dwarfs all else. It's even explicitly stated the fusion got that strong because two of the three strongest people have fused, lol. meaning any two people above those three would make a Potara fusion that's even stronger.

So you don't believe Goku and Vegeta's fusion had an special boost or something, like a rival boost?

What about old Kai saying "they are rivals, that's absolutely strongest"?

I do think them being rivals may have increased compatibility, but I don't believe it's by enough that they'd beat a fusion of Ultimate Gohan and Super boo or something like that.

It's like saying those fodder Metamorans who were incredibly weak would beat Gotenks if they were rivals if assuming that rule applies to the dance fusion as well. It's just dumb.

I see. But if the Potara has a greater effect than the fusion, so the Potara is also one of the reasons of Vegetto's strength, alongside with Goku and Vegeta being too strong. One thing doesn't prevents the other imo.

Well obviously the Potara are responsible for Vegetto's strength, as the whole point of fusing it to become stronger. The point is that there's no extra boost from the Potara that only Goku and Vegeta would recieve just for being rivals.

Also, old Kai said "what's more, they're rivals. That's difinitely the strongest" or something like this, I guess. That's not the same as saying that being rivals create a strong fusion?

Them being rivals is beneficial because they both push each other to become stronger, which in turn would make their fusion stronger. As obviously the stronger you are, the stronger your fusion is.
