Piccolo probably knew Goku's 50% wasn't his maximum given Trunks' surprise. If Piccolo were already << 50% Goku (and consequently <<< expected Cell) then Trunks showing surprise at Piccolo being useless wouldn't make sense, since that would already be a given.

Why would anyone expect what Goku showed on Karin's tower to be his max? Why would he show his hand before fighting Cell?

Because it was so powerful they just assumed it had to be near his full power. They start basing their expectations off of the power that was shown.

Vegeta seems to take it as Goku's full power pretty immediately. He curses Goku for always being one step ahead of him. I think the overall point here is that Goku's power is so outrageous, it has to be his full power. Right?

As time goes on, doubt creeps in their mind. I don't think Piccolo heard the conversation, he wouldn't have to ask. He seems to have figured it out throughout the year while training in the Rosat. Piccolo was probably gunning for Goku's ridiculously far away power gets somewhere around it and starts figuring, hmmm, perhaps Goku has more in the tank, if I know Goku... Shit he probably has way more.

I think that's Piccolo mentality when he speaks to Goku. He is kind of showing off that he knows what's up, even though he hopes he's wrong. He ends up feeling foolish for hoping he was useful.

Trunks gets straight up herbed up in the corner. Like oh shit, I'm doomed. We never see any confidence at all from Trunks, he knows he's fucked.

If Piccolo heard Goku and Karin's conversation then he wouldn't be surprised by Goku's full power at the Cell Games, then yeah, he probably figured it during his RoSaT trip.

I think all these implications would feel more comfortable if Goku showed an even lower portion of his power at Karin. 50% doesn't cut all this imo. Piccolo thinks Goku hasn't showed anywhere near his full power and yet is flabbergasted by full power Goku.

Oh it cuts it plenty. You keep underestimating how wide these gaps are. You forget how they view 1.1x gap. We view it as tiny and it's quite significant to them.

Piccolo is expecting to be useless at a power of 50. He feels like Goku is much stronger than himself, he thinks Goku is a power of 75, which absolutely shits on a 50. Piccolo thinks he will be 66% of Goku and then Cell is probably like 82.5-85 in his mind. Piccolo is garbage here. Only, when Goku powers up, his power rockets to 100 and Cell to 110. Those powers absolutely shit on the power Piccolo was assuming.

Sure, 1.1x gap is a considerable difference in a 1x1 fight. Now regarding training gains, power ups, expected true power? Nah, it's almost nothing.

Piccolo thought Goku was just holding back at Karin's tower. Like you said, Piccolo knows Goku well and knows he has more in the tank... why would he just assume a 1.5x power that Goku was hiding? Why would he think Goku was already at 66%? "Having more in the tank", "showing only the tip of the iceberg" doesn't sound like just a simple 1.5. I know that's the case, I am just saying what I think would flow better, a 1.5x power up is still pretty considerable in some situations.

He would assume something like, I bet Goku has a whole lot more in the tank from what he showed. Then Goku shows him far more than he even expected. I think you are over analyzing here. The way they view power is much different from how you are portraying it.

You still haven't managed to prove how Future Gohan is stronger than Super Saiyan Goku and Freeza 100%. All you did was link me to a terrible response. Seriously how does that even being to explain what the hell we are arguing here?

You haven't proved your point either. It's personal interpretation. Until your vote, it was a 12-0 unanimous decision by this board that Less than Half of 17 > Freeza.

I know, cause' I live the fuck boi life. It really is up to personal interpretation, I personally put 17 and 18 at around 170M, and there future counterparts around 160M.
