Have the big characters matched the hype?

Doflamingo probably fell below the hype. WB and BB definitely met it. What about the other big ones, like the Yonkou, Garp and Vegapunk?

I feel like Big Mom and Kaido had far more hype before Wano. Wano made them both seem incompetent at times. They also didn't have any ridiculous feats like WB smashing Akainu with half of his head. Kaido basically fought a bunch of fodder and Big Mom got owned by Franky.

BB would be more impressive if he had a 1v1 fight post timeskip.

The Yonko’s that we have seen the most have not.

Big Mom was weaker than everyone expected. So was Doflamingo to a lesser extent.

I don't think Doffy fell below the hype in any way. Kaido did tho. And Big Mom too, mainly her.
