Do you like that? Did that make you cry? I mean all of that after the battle ended. Goku leaving with Shenron. Bulma reminiscing. Visiting old friends & of-course the flash-forward.

The ending is generally considered to be one of the strong moments of the series. Or to word it differently, one of the more 'tolerable' parts. When a story reaches it's farewell stage, there's a smaller window for error since the writer can rely on nostalgia & call-backs, and has more freedom in what they put out since they don't have to go further.

Must've been particularly sad for fans that watched it when it first aired, as opposed to newer fans that have far more Dragon Ball content they can go through afterwards.

But wasn't that so beautiful? Bulma reminisced how she first met Goku. Kuririn & Goku (& Muten-Roshi-sama) just like old times. All that.

Maybe it would be if I watched GT. It is an emotional ending and the farewells were handled in a way that felt realistic. Pretty unique too - I can't think of other shows that end with all the characters saying such a final, permanent goodbye. Maybe that's how the end of your days will be.

Idk why Goku had to leave though. Feels as unnecessary as Tenshinhan's "we'll probably never see each other again". Kinda shafted Krillin by making him say bye to his best friend decades before he had to. That makes me think about how Goku would feel if he stayed on Earth and had to see Krillin, Chi Chi, Bulma, Oolong (pretty sure he's past his life expectancy), Yamcha etc die.

Z's ending was kind of a happy "the story continues somewhere", GT actually closes the book, pretty much. Honestly whne I think about it the open ending makes me feel better, but the GT one is good writing.

The GT ending was good also because it focused on Shenron and the Dragon Balls.

I mean yeh. I don't know who cries like wahhhh for an anime. I think NHK made me cry pretty good tho. What else....probably OP and Gintama. Some kdrama made me cry pr good, like ep 1 of Itaewon Class and ep 1 of Vagabond. And Alice in Borderland episode 3, fuck.
