Give me a recommendation.

I'm now current on One Piece, and Nanatsu no Taizai, so I may try something else in the near future alongside my DB reread.

Only chapter 1's out just yet, but already it's off to a bad start. Shishio's sword still being around seems like an asspull, since how it survived being burnt along with his body is perplexing. Also, somehow Kaoru's dad is alive, which brings up many questions as to why he never made his survival noted, something that whilst we'll get an explanation to, I doubt it'll be a good one. It also doesn't help that Watsuki's change in style makes his art look far more generic.

At least it's off to a better start than other unnecessary Shonen spinoffs like Super and Boruto, though it still doesn't have much reason to exist beyond milking.

Yeah figured it'd be lacking. Thanks for the heads up, might still give it a go when a few more chapters come out.

Dorohedoro is a good one. It was recommended to me a long time ago. Or by me? I can't remember.

I’m trying Tokyo Ghoul. Not going to make a thread for it until I know I’ll actually read the whole thing. Any of you read it?

Read the first 3 volumes before dropping it, and getting through the boredom of the 3rd volume was an absolute pain to do. One of the worst manga I've ever read.

I've been slowly reading a manga called 7 seeds. It has potential to go either way imo, pretty average so far.

Captain Cadaver I'm planning reading some shonen mangas in my spare time while I found two mangas that gives me a DB feel if you know what I mean. So between HunterXHunter and Yu Yu Hakusho, which one I should read? I've checked that Yu Yu Hakusho has only 176 chapters which is ideal for me but I've also learned that Hunter2x has 390 and still on-going and I just want to read the old series that was from 1999-2001 manga version and I would like to know how many chapters were there from that time period.

Hunter X Hunter is the far superior work overall, other than having far more inconsistent art. The characters are far more complex and well developed, the power system is highly interesting and unique rather than just being a DBZ Ki clone and far less egregious asspulls. I would recommend just watching the 2011 anime as not only does it have far better art, but if you were only reading it up until the run of the original anime, you're basically preventing yourself from viewing the best arc of the series. The 2011 anime is 148 episodes long, in which it covers the first 330 or so chapters.

So is the anime from 2011 is just a retelling version of the original anime or a continuation? Also does the anime keeps being faithful to the manga version unlike DBZ where the filler makes errors?

A retelling of the original until around episode 74, at which point it becomes a continuation for the next two arcs.

It's far more faithful to the manga than the original which included far more filler material and doesn't make any anime-exclusive errors with the manga. Just skip episodes 13 and 26 as they are recap episodes.
