So is the anime from 2011 is just a retelling version of the original anime or a continuation?
A retelling of the original until around episode 74, at which point it becomes a continuation for the next two arcs.

Also does the anime keeps being faithful to the manga version unlike DBZ where the filler makes errors?
It's far more faithful to the manga than the original which included far more filler material and doesn't make any anime-exclusive errors with the manga. Just skip episodes 13 and 26 as they are recap episodes.

That's great to hear then.

Sub, as for 99.9% of anime.

Only anime I'd ever recommend watching in dub would be Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, Berserk (1997), Baccano!, Ghost Stories and maybe Super.

Vinland Saga, It's about vikings.

Think of it as Berserk, but with no monsters and instead focuses on character development. There's also an anime coming up in April, made by the same guys behind AoT.

I’ve only read Pokemon Adventures 1 a long time ago, and I recall thinking it was ok. Mind you I would’ve been < 15.

Haven't read it, but have heard from Kenshi it's at best ok until after the Gold/Silver Arc, with the rest of it being pretty repetitive and poorly written.

....Unless he's GASLIGHTING me into not reading this masterpiece. :autism

It's really not an impressive series no matter which part you're reading, but it's still tolerable up to the FireRed/LeafGreen arc. Everything after that is unremarkable trash tho from what I've read.

Kimetsu no Yaiba. The art is kinda unrefined and the first 20 chapters or so are slow and not terribly notable, but if you get past that you get what I find to be one of the best recent shonens imo. Dr. Stone is worth a read too if you're into science and a shonen that's out of the mill.

Gog is a fan of HxH so his opinion is invalid.

I remember looking into it when it was in its early stages, though it seems to just be a generic battle royale series and seems to be regarded as the worst series of the Ohba-Obata partnership.
