Hype does mean something. It shows you exactly how you are supposed to perceive someone. Do you even know why they hype-up characters? I guess you don't.
Yup, the hype is true if it ended up the expectation. Gotenks hype means nothing as he didn't met the expectation not once, not twice, but THRICE!!!
a. Everyone thought except Piccolo that Base Gotenks might beat Boo and what happened? He got his ass kicked, so his hype failed.
b. Base Gotenks hype after training ROSAT leads Piccolo to think he might have a chance against Super Boo and what happened? He got his ass kicked, so his hype failed.
c. He turn SSjin in the ROSAT which gives Piccolo a hope again that he might win and what happened? He got his ass kicked AGAIN!!!
So stop using his hype as if means anything.

Here you go:
Chapter: 476 (DBZ 282), P9.3
Piccolo: “If that bastard felt like it, he could wipe out the entire Earth, up here included, in the blink of an eye…!”
Goku: “It’s alright, I don’t think he’ll take out the Earth. After all, I told him that in 2 days, someone stronger than me would fight him, and he seemed happy…”
What do you got now? Nothing
According to Goku, he told to Boo that Gotenks will be stronger than him. Now let me ask you this, did he told this to Boo?

I asked you before to show me in numbers how that'd look you said you can't do that. You already know you can't do it. South Kaio-Shin can't possibly make Pure-Boo stronger than Super-Boo.
Why not? It was implied that he did.
Chapter: 507 (DBZ 313), P13.5
Context: as evil Boo reverts to his South Kaioshin form
Goku: "H-hey...Vegeta...His ki is increasing, ain't it...!?"
Buff Boo > Super Boo and whose sum was Buff Boo? Pure Boo + SOuth Kaoshin. Now that's how math works.
