Tf you guys talking about Asura Zoro would speed blitz Gear 2 Luffy to oblivion. He needs at least G3 to take him on.

He's saying comparatively. Zoro cant repeatedly use Asura so he'd only be able to do that once.

Yes he would destroy him. The gap between Luffy Zoro and Sanji hasn’t changed at all.

Because they basically one shotted guys that were many times stronger than Blueno who Gear 2 Luffy took several hits to take down. Even against the Pacifista's you can't argue that in terms of portrayal they stand side by side. If Zoro and Sanji fought Rob Lucci then they would push him to his Zoan form too.

The Doriki system only really measures raw power and not devil fruits, but I'm still going to use this as an example.

Gear 3 Luffy - 6000
Zoan Lucci - 5500
Gear 2 Luffy - 4800
Rob Lucci - 4000
Luffy - 3800

Asura Zoro - >5000
Zoro - 3600
Zoan Kaku - 3500
Kaku - 2200

DJ Sanji - 4500
Sanji - 3500
Zoan Jabura - 3450
Jabura - 2120

Luffy >/= Zoro >/= Sanji is still retained.

Luffy not oneshottting Blueno was weird. He still edged out Lucci on G2, whom Zoro said was in another level...

Didn't he say that before having Asura? Zoro was barely on par with Kaku prior to surpassing his limits.

Wait didn’t they only lose at Water 7 because of their mentality during the fight right?

He didn’t say he grew stronger though. It’s literally spelt out to use what happened.

I believe he said something when he caught sight of Luffy fighting Lucci when the strawhats had already defeated their respective enemies.

@Future Warrior

That dialog doesn't necessarily indicate that. "When they understood it was time to save her, their strength became limitless" can merely mean they got a resolve boost once understanding that she needed to be saved and thus they became stronger. It's silly to believe their strength was handicapped before and only after that they could make use of it.

No dude. The quote where it says “anybody becomes weak when they lose their way” is what I’m referring to. Their resolve was questioned with Robin leaving therefore they couldn’t output their full potential. There’s nothing silly about it at all...

What’s silly is believing the Straw Hats suddenly got some Zenkai boost because they got stabbed nearly to death. Sanji hasn’t fought them at all prior and yet he still destroyed one of their best CP9 members. They did get “stronger”, but it wasn’t really a power boost in the traditional shonen way.

Kaku pretty well states that Zoro was boosted by rage. You could say their Haki had increased in general after committing to save Robin.

That doesn't make sense. "Uhh I don't know why Robin is betraying us so I won't punch as hard as I can". Talk about silly. That ain't happening here, sorry. Zoro directly said that Usopp, like them, went through all the challenges in the different islands and then boosted his strength like them. That's directly tied to the reason they got considerably stronger, not a supposedly mental block generated by Robin betraying them, that shouldn't have ANY influence in how hard they hit. Blueno stopped Luffy easily and tanked all his attacks... are you saying Luffy wasn't hitting as hard there since he was confused by Robin's actions? Uh-huh.

Ok, you’ve already made yourself clear on how feel about the idea. I already gave you a direct statement addressing the topic. How you personally feel about it is a separate issue.

These guys aren’t walking power level machines. Idk why it’s hard to swallow that logically your mentality plays a role in a fight. Seems perfectly logical to me but I guess logic is in the eye of the beholder.

They had to surpass themselves after the previous challenge they faced in order to rescue Robin. It doesn't mean they were weaker because they were confused by Robin's actions. Now that they know Robin wants to be saved and adding that the challenge they faced before, they have evolved in power and techniques. That's how I see. They weren't weak because of being confused by Robin's behavior. If anything, not knowing why Robin was being seized would prompt in then more strength as to make things clear and get an answer. Luffy punched Blueno and Lucci as hard as he could there.

I was gonna make a longer post but I've realized there's no point in arguing when it can mostly be left to interpretation. I respect your view, even if I don't share it.

Whitebeard vs Roger seemed so puny in the Oden's flashback.
