I once posted this on a thread of the same name, but I made another thread with the exact same thing, maybe it'll incite some new discussion. :cage2 :cage2 :cage2

Goku (Beginning of DragonBall) – 11.5
Goku (21st Tenkaichi-Budokai) – 32
General Blue – 28.5
Goku (post-21st Tenkaichi-Budokai) – 35.5 – 36.5
Mummy-kun – 36
Akkuman – 60
Tao-Pai-Pai – 86
Grandpa Gohan – 95
Goku – 100

Oozaru Goku (Beginning of DragonBall) – 115

Wouldn't that imply Roshi <<< Grandpa Gohan?
Yeah, remember Grand-Pa Gohan fought evenly with Goku after his training with Karin.

Master-Roshi surpassed him once-again at the 22nd Tenkaichi-Budokai, though.

I always assumed Gohan trained in the afterlife. Before that, I think they were near equals, due to Roshi mentioning using his electric attack on Gohan.

I think that's fine, but I thought this quote implied that Grand-Pa Gohan has stayed the same since he died. Just the way the line reads.

Chapter: 108, P7.3
Grandpa Gohan: “In any case, you really have gotten strong! I never thought I’d be no match for you! Did you receive training from Lord Muten Roshi?”
Goku: “Yup!”

Good point, although I find there is some inconsistency with the strength of Roshi and what not. For example, after Goku trains on Karin Tower, Karin says this:

Chapter: Chapter 89, P.14.7
Context: Goku leaves, and Master Karin says...
Karin: “It might be that this kid... has already surpassed Muten Roshi...”

Despite the fact that Goku had pretty much already surpassed Roshi before his training with Karin.

True. Karin could probably even look down to see how powerful Master-Roshi still is, but it might be a possibility he's just referring to the Master-Roshi that he trained, and not before or after.

Or it could mean Goku surpassed him in the martial-arts (considering Goku didn't train with Master-Roshi afterward anymore, anyway) that could make sense.

Toriyama at that point probably had no idea of how strong he wanted Roshi in his prime to be. He is implied to be weaker than Post Karin Goku in the Red Ribbon Army saga, but at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai his prime strength is implied to be above Goku's.

Was it ever mentioned if Gohan kept his body in the afterlife?

It seems to be, considering he was able to make requests to Uranai-Baba.

I think both view points are valid then. I just prefer the idea that Gohan trained in the afterlife, because it makes more sense to me.

I think it's fine either-way. It doesn't seem like it contradicts anything directly and keeping all that happened in the 10x space can be kind-of hard.

If I was to put Dragon Ball debating skills into a power chain:

OPBR (Rusty) <<< ryan1227 <<< OPBR (Prime) <<< 2kewl4u

Anyways, if we were to go with Oozaru Goku (BoDB) > Grandpa Gohan, would that mean Gohan trained and surpassed Roshi before he died? Roshi did say he hadn't seen Gohan in a while IIRC.

nah, @One Piece Bus Ride is way better than me

Young Master-Roshi was implied to be way higher than he was when he was old, so he might or might not have surpassed Master-Roshi at whatever state he was at that point. :king :king :king

I think Karin was talking about Buffed Roshi.
