Piccolo v Base Saiyans (Boo Saga)

As much of Piccolo fan I am, the fact that he was left behind with Krillin shows how irrelevant he was. Kaioshin was shocked by the base powers and was more than happy to take on Piccolo.

Kaioshin at the Tenkaichi Budokai and Babidi's Spaceship are like two totally different characters.

Agreed. Kaioshit is indifferent with Gohan's SSJ2 power but amazed with Vegeta's base power.

It's possible he can't sense (well). A staple of non-Earthlings is that they aren't good at sensing. But none have been shown to be bad at gauging power after seeing someone fight.

I guess that leaves us back in the same circle apart from showing Base > Kaioshin, because Kaioshin never saw Piccolo fight.

Clearly not their SSJ power as they sent out Pocus to battle.

Even if they were only sensing their base power, and not their Super Saiyan power, it'd still make no sense as Pocus is weaker than that as well.

Man, it just goes to show how shit the Boo arc is written.

We know that they can suppress all the way to zero showing no sign of life, so perhaps the Saiyans exude some sort of different ki than everyone else that made them stick out?

It's a very difficult question. Dabura and Babidi America to at least 3 people as "wonderful Energy" and that certainly would help in the resurrection of Majin Boo. Even then, they were confident they would win the three Hocus-pocus. I don't know how much power that Dabra realized that the "3 special people" had, but couldn't be too much power since he thought that Hocus-pocus would be enough to do the job.

Saiyans base being stronger than Piccolo is impossible in my book, since I have Green Man at least on par with SSJ Goku (50%) Cell Games.

Because the Base Saiyans did not power up to 50% Cell Games SSJ level.

What makes Piccolo > that? The Cell Jr. fight? That can just be explained as them playing around.

For me it is more the atmosphere around the Cell Games. For some reason Toriyama wants to showcase that Piccolo got loads stronger in the RoSaT, even if he is still useless. I don't think anything would have been said if he was below Base Saiyan level.

Yea they got a whiff of Super Saiyan 2 power. That's the only level of power that could possibly overflow the meter.

This part is just dumb and makes no sense.

From what they sensed from the suppressed Saiyans, it should be enough to fill the meter, yet they think 100's of humans were able to fill the meter to almost half. I also liked the part where Bobbidi wondered if Pui-Pui "was finished" when it's obvious he wasn't when the meter didn't increase. They also seem to lose this inner sensing ability right after everyone enters the ship.

The hundreds of humans thing is the funniest shit Toriyama wrote in that whole part to me. He still remembers even now that he drew the Super Saiyan as being 10x what Goku was before. How does he think that low of a number is enough to do SSJ2 Gohan, far stronger than even the Cell Games Goku, justice? And this is even the part where he still knows the difference between each Super Saiyan form, too. I do know his memory is plainly terrible but that was comedic. They'd have needed to get hundreds of Yakons or something like that.
