The last mainline Pokemon games were in 2019 with an expansion in 2020, a remake in 2021, and a spin off in 2022. Three years for a new set is unlike modern GameFreak.

I remain cyncial. Much similar to Arecus, I like the art direction but technically speaking the visuals and the textures look shit, and it seems GameFreak is unable to properly utilise the hardware (look at Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade, Zelda etc) I think the aesthetic looks good but it's let down either by the development team, the development time or the hardware.

I actually like the starters. I was not fond of the Gen 7 or 8 ones, but I think these look cool. Fire one cute AF.
