So Dio can fly? Foh lol
Just wait till the end of Part 3 when a superpowered yet still human character suddenly gains DBZ-esque flight out of nowhere. :alex2

Didn't Araki state that he made him fly simply because he thought it would look cool? :ladd

Chapter 34 - Zeppeli dying and transferring his "life energy" to JoJo is retarded. How he managed to even stay alive after having his torso and arm cut clean off is beyond me. Scene felt way too forced, him sacrificing himself was enough.

Araki wrote himself into a corner and had to asspull a way for Jonathan to beat Tarkus. I wouldn't say Zepelli not instantly dying was complete shit, seeing as how there have been cases of normal humans having survived normally fatal injuries (such as one guy who survived having his lower half wrecked by a train) and Hamon mastery gives him some sort of in-universe excuse, but the cliche nature of the scene shows Araki hadn't become nearly as good at portraying character deaths as in later parts.

Okay.. chapter 36. Now this is really bothering me. Zeppeli's cronies show up to the scene of combat at the perfect moment to provide aid. Where do these cockroaches always crawl out from in these cliche moments!?!

Without spoiling, does Dino's past/motives ever become revealed? I checked how many chapters are left within the part and it does not leave much room for explanations..

His plans in Part 1 don't get much explanation beyond what's revealed about the victimisation of his backstory and a general "evil" personality modelled after several serial killers, though his "legacy" so to say is given some solid foundation in Part 6.

Get the fuck outta here. Somehow Dio's head is alive. Lol honestly have not been a fan of part 1. I thought the first arc was decent, and after Zeppelin was introduced, it kinda went to shit.

Gonna rate this 4/10 when it's all said and done. The horrific ending did not cut it for me.

For any of you who have read part 1 and 2, how do they compare? Is 2 better? Captain Cadaver Diamond Ryan Yamcha Pocket-Gog~

Most people would say Part 2 is better, I'd say as far as fights goes it's the better. However, Part 1 is in general my most favorite as I really like gothic themed stories. Part 1 and Part 2 are my favorite out of the entire JoJo series. I think you'll find that you'll like Part 2 better than Part 1 for sure though. It's very good.

It's better, yeah. Part 2 is where JoJo begins to find it's style, it's very fun, and easily the silliest part of the bunch, but that does act as a strength in my opinion. But it's still very flawed.

As Gog said, Part 2 >>> Part 1 as it has a far more original protagonist, a supporting cast that aren't just Joestar fanboys and battles that rely on tactics over brute strength. It's still far from the most flawless part, since there's a great deal of luck that comes into many of it's battles (especially the finale) and whilst it has a good training segment, it seems very cheap when what's essentially a month or so of climbing equates to far better Hamon training than years in the mountains like Zepelli had.

Part 2 is much better than Part 1 imo. The fights are a lot better, as CC said they utilize tactics more than power, although there are a lot of moments that are pretty stupid honestly. You'll probably realize what these moments are once you get to them. Still, all in all, I thought it was decent.

On chapter 4. Not sure what my opinion is of the new Jojo yet. He has potential to be more interesting than his grandfather was, but I am also finding him annoying for his edgy attitude.

Joseph using the mirror trick against Straizo was rather clever. This battle has been ok.
