Is it only P1 that is in colour?
Depends where you're reading it. I know sites like Mangafox have the first 7 parts fully colourised, whilst Mangasee has the first 116 volumes in full colour.

Also, I wouldn't say there's much reason to reread the first two parts when going into Part 3 so long as you can still remember key details like who Dio is and such since beyond the history of certain characters, Part 3 can be considered a major change in direction with how much Hamon gets shafted in favour of Stands. I'd probably recommend you watch the anime instead as a different refresher if going to retread into the first two parts, since whilst sacrificing certain details to Part 1's plot (not as if it means much), the anime is overall a more entertaining watch when it comes to things such as the ost, voice acting, effects and scene direction, not to mention you'll probably get through Part 1 faster this way.

The anime is a pass from me. Don’t like committing that much time. Also you underestimate how much I’ve forgotten.

Would depend on your reading speed, really. The anime covers Part 1 in 9 episodes.

Do you still remember who Dio and Joseph are? If so, you know enough to continue Part 3. :giraffe
Going in with a hazy memory may make the experience better, considering it might dull one pretty big retcon made early on in Part 3. :troll

I mean yeah, but I know next to nothing about them or the series in general aside from character’s names.

40 pages into volume 1. The only conclusive thing so far is that Dio is an asshole lol

Why is Dio still allowed to live in the Joestar residence after incinerating Danny? At least after the 7 year skip JoJo says he still has not trust for Dio, but it is weird seeing them engage amicably.

Dio made it look like an accident, with the official report being that Danny must've been locked in without the servants realising he was there, so there wasn't any hard evidence for Jonathan to openly blame Dio for it.

Isn’t the fact that he was locked in a box suspicious enough? Dio already openly claimed to hate dogs.

It should be, though the idea of a caretaker being incompetent enough to not realise Danny was inside when locking it is in the realm of possibility. Only Jonathan heard Dio state his disdain of dogs iirc, so it's doubtful anyone else put 2 and 2 together, not to mention that's still at best just a suspicion for Dio's involvement and far from the hard evidence any character would need to accuse him.

But they knew that Dio kicked Danny early on. They had more than enough reason to suspect him, even without proof.

That's true, though George seemed to buy Dio's excuse of being startled by Danny rushing up to him, plus I guess you could say George and the rest may have thought Dio was nowhere near crazy enough to kill a dog of his step-brother who's house Dio was lucky to be in, especially with the courteous act he'd put on for everyone but JoJo.

Dio surviving his fight with the old guy with the mask due to the sun rising was a little much.

Captain Cadaver I cant remember this correctly.. So I've read a little past Jojo and Dio's fight that burned down the mansion.. Supposedly I'm still on volume 2 and there are 18 total? I feel like I've read a lot more than that.

18 chapters? I think so, since Part 1 is only about 4.5 volumes with chapters that range from just above an average weekly series to roughly the length of a monthly series.
