Rate the One Piece movies

Well, similarly to DB, I think it's a good idea to have a thread dedicated to discussing and rating/analysing the OP's movies. A movie will be rated and analysed in each 3 days, so if you haven't watched them, you could do it and post your input here. A simple sentence at least would be cool to accompany the rating, but if you want to just rate it's cool as well.

We'll begin with movie 1 and follow up to the next one in 3 days. I'll watch it today and post some thing.

I haven't seen any of the films so I'll join this. Won't watch M1 today but likely will tomorrow night.

A little late, but I've watched the 1st movie. It sets off the characters in a nice way, but the plot and vilain are nothing outstanding. Zoro's dubber was apparently that of Sanji lol, I wonder if Sanji hadn't been inteoducced in the manga at this point.

4/10 to me.

Implying he's not just as annoying and poorly written in the manga.

As for the thread, I'll add my thoughts when it gets to Movies 10 and 12 as I've seen them. Movie 6 is one I want to check out, though I doubt I'll get around to doing so soon.

Super Saiyan El Drago

El Drago was one of the most one-dimensional villains I've seen. No depth, no personality, just some guy who wanted gold. Zoro's fight was utterly ridiculous after his opponent (can't even remember his name) was hyped up as being some great swordsman only to get one shotted. Overall this movie was a complete waste of time.

Movie 1 average score: 3/10

Now we'll move onto movie two. As a solate though, SSJ2, I'd say the movies get progressively better until some pretty good pieces like the Z's movie, so the gradual experience may be worth it. I'll watch the 2nd one soon.

The production quality was decent enough for an early 2000s movie. The movie was tolerable, there was just hardly any substance to it. There are several movies I'm excited to watch, like Film Z, Strong World, Gold, and Lord Douglas Bullet's movie.

Once again the villains lacked substance and personality. The film was undoubtedly better than movie 1, and it was nice that all of the Straw Hats got some action this time.

yeah, I agree that the action from the straw hats was a plus, but the villain is generic and the plot isn't great. I'll be a little generous though and give it a 5/10. the action was nice, and it was a good set up for the initial quartet.

average score -- 4/10

and yeah, I think it's supposed to be placed after or during arlong park. if I had to fit it in, I'd say right after arlong park but before whiskey peak... loguetown, if having to choose a spot-on equivalent.


it seems CC won't be joining until movie 6 and since we seem to be the only one participating (FH has seen OP, but I don't think he's joining us), shall we go to the next movie, or just wait one or two more days?
