Watch the next two then at least. The next one, the sacred sword, features good actions from Zoro and Sanji, and the 6th one, Baron Omatsuki, is the most unique of all. Then you move onto Strong World and Z. The next two ought to be the most unique ones besides Z and SW.

I'll start them but will not hesitate to drop them if I don't like them. The One Piece anime annoys the hell out of me at times and doesn't bring me any sort of joy and excitement. A 1.5 hour waste of time is not ideal for me right now.

Sure. I think the Sacred Sword will be more triggering from the beginning. I like the pitch of adventure the dead end brought initially, but eh, kinda generic.

Why do these movies have to feel so generic? DB had the same issue as well, which is why I haven't watched the new broly film yet. I just can't be assed to sit through 2 hours of generic mediocrity with no reward.

Movie 6 is the only one worth watching as it's the only one that tried to do something different rather than the same generic plot and tone. Whether I'll join in for that though when the alternative is just watching more of Better Call Saul is debatable right now.

I can say before we get to them that Movies 10 and 12 really aren't worth watching if you value your brain cells.

10 and 12 are strong world and the Z movie. Are you referring to those?

Yeah. They're both mindless :trash.
The admiral Z movie was pretty decent to me. Good animation, well crafted fights and somewhat fuel for thought with the 7th Shichibukai suspense (that isn't anymore, but still). Strong World had that dubious Luffy's fight, but won't spoil it to SSJ2. Regardless, the Z movie is generally regarded as one of the best if not the best OP movie.

Film Z had good elements, but was completely ruined by the Luffy VS Zephyr fight at the end.

well yeah, they wank Luffy a little in movies, as seen in strong world. I don't think that's too damning though.

I'd also argue that movie 5 (sacred sword) is worth looking at as its plot differs from the prior ones and while Zoro seemed a little questionable, it featured some unique actions from him and Sanji, plus the ending is different from most movies.

I'd say that cursed Sacred Sword, Baron Omatsuki (movie 6) and film Z are worth gazing at.

The way it's done completely undermines the capability of its antagonist, particularly when there were far more effective ways of making it work such as fatigue from fighting Kizaru (who was actively pursuing Zephyr iirc). Most of the action at the end is also pure spectacle with little to care about in the same manner as the Fishman Island climax, bar the very last scene of the film.

It isn't as awful as Strong World, but still pretty bad.

Zephyr hadn't been at his prime though. It could be argued that from his lack of action and being a past admiral have taken a tool on his skills. As seen later, he doesn't seem to stand up to the current admirals either. Dunno what the action amounted to, but the fights were well choreographed, mainly Zoro's one and it's not like much variety could be given. And again, it shouldn't undermine the whole movie either. Luffy's power is dubious, but it doesn't take away from the whole thing.

Subjected myself to Movie 6 (and highly regret doing so rather than watching 1-2 BCS episodes in that time), so I can post my thoughts on that when you get to it.
