I always figured Dragon quit the Marines because of God Valley.

Crazy chapter. God Valley isn't disappointing after all the years of build up. Rocks has been painted in a different light than what the rumours had said. He hasn't done anything yet that would make him come across as evil to me, at least nothing that I can recall. Blackbeard is definitely worse in all ways.

Also damn, Kaido looked insane this chapter lol

And how the fuck was Marco the Phoenix there, and he looked like an adult lol. Oversight?

WB/Kaido/BM running from Garp is still insane to me.

Not sure what Oda’s intention is for Garling + Gods Knights to get dropped like flies this early here though if he’s meant to be one of the key figures in the final war. He may not yet be at his prime but’s still odd

I think the flashback is the best One Piece has been in a very long time.

Yeah I like it. Probably top 1 in Post-TS. Shakky gag kinda ruined the tone of what is meant to be an epic conflict that involves mass human tragedy but that's my only critique. Also wish we got to see more fights between Rocks/Roger pirates.

Given Garp's portrayal here it's hard to see him as being weaker than Roger or WB in their primes. At least not by a noticeable amount.

Since we see Ray and Gaban coming back, Rocks might not be out for good.

If Roger/Garp are already using advanced haoshoku it makes you wonder how much stronger they became after God Valley. They did come up with a way to overcome Rocks' haki by the end implying they still had room to grow, but it can't be a significant amount imo
