What the fuck reason would Freeza possibly have to spare two of his three most hated enemies?! Does Whis break his oath not to take sides, or something? Even Piccolo and Gohan showing up to stall the black and white Dalmasian fucker while they fuse to Gogeta only to realize they can't go above PSSJB in their battle damaged state would've been better.

None. Absolutely none. Even dicking around by torturing them first would've been more in-character than outright sparing them. You know, like Gogeta did right after being deadass ready to kill Broly.
